And if you never have, you should. These things are fun and fun is good.

How is the new plant deck used with PG? Just curious as I don't have the rules with me.

Do you simply substitute? Or must you substitute with one of the variants offered?

But.. The rules are online.
Rules on Rio Grande site

EDIT: To paraphrase the rules:
Variant 1: Use the new deck
Variant 2: Use the both decks
Variant 3: Use either deck and the "Big Plants"
Variant 4: Make your own deck

(And shouldn't this be in Power Grid: The New Power Plant Cards's forum?)

It's probably here to attract more widespread attention.

Since the deck doesn't work with half of the expansions, anyway, I see no real use for it.

My favorite 18xx game for six players is two games of 1846 with three players each.

Every time I've played with it, we just substituted it for the original deck. The purpose is to add variety for players who have played the original deck so often they know it by heart.

I guess if you've played both decks that often, you use the "random" version in which you use some plants from one deck and some from the other, without knowing which ones will be used.

I would be interested in trying that variant if people are interested.
