I've been thru the rules and thru the forums, incl CSW, but have not found (or been able to find whistle) : how the Airborne HQ are paradropped ?
Are they considered as gliders and they have to fulfill the gliders landing rules ?
Are they "normal" paradroppers subject to the same rules as the combat companies ?
Anything intermediate or else ?

Thanks a lot for your help
Gilles

Gilles,

It's in 17.2. They drop as normal para units, but they can choose which pathfinder unit they drop on.

Good question. I think it was partially answered in an old post, "US and CW AB HQs."

The question:
"In the scenario book, 82 and 101 AB HQ are marked "any". Can you clarify what "any" means? Do they join the airdrop or glider landing? Do they count against the 3 companies limit under s17.2? If so does it mean a company has to come in via normal beach landing?"

The answer::
"Not an authoritative answer, but we assumed "any" meant drop at any one of the pathfinder positions for that division as per 6 Airborne."
This was confirmed by designer Danny Holte.

But this still leaves the question: does the HQ unit land in the same hex as the pathfinder, or does it have to roll for accuracy? I have assumed the latter.

(By the way, this is my first post on BGG, Learning and enjoying BfN. Solitaire at this point...hopefully soon using Vassal with my brother.)
