Thank you so much!

I think this solution will work really nicely for us. It suits our style of being able to find all the FTL comments by subscribing to the community without having it all hidden away like in a guild.

Thanks for considering how we use the site in redesigning how we access it. I am even more proud of my support now.

-Ryan

edit: for background story, the FTL community has been around for a while based in one thread whose members practiced liberal tipping, thumbing and generally random but positive conversation. That one thread started to see too much use for the servers to be able to handle. They were forced to do something about the thread and chose to make a community section for the FTL community rather than ban the practices of thumbing and tipping everything and making multiple comments just to have fun. They apparently chose to give us a space just for that sort of thing.

The Love Thread was a glorious accident. I am sure it was never planned to become what it did. It’s credit to Aldie, Derk and the rest of the team that they created an environment where it could flourish.

Throughout its life it has had a lot of detractors who never managed to get into the spirit of the thread. But whenever some short sighted bigot called for the thread to be locked or deleted they found the admins were not listening.

Now the success of the thread has caused a major threat to the site, action had to be taken. We have all been found a new home and we give thanks for the seamless transition to a slightly new way of doing things.

A look back through the thread will show most of the best known members of the BGG community at least visited the thread a few times.

It’s now a glorious memory and we can look forward to sharing the love in our new home and as ever welcoming new FTLers as they find us.

Peace and love to all.

Well said, John. I don't think there could be a better way of summing up FTL.

I just want to voice my agreement for everything that has already been said. BGG was always one of the most positive places on the internet, and the way Aldie and Co. supported the thread over the years was a testimony to the power of genuineness over cynicism.

Just as it wouldn't have been possible without their support, it wouldn't have been possible without all of you. So thanks to all of you, too, and may every change that comes your way be for the better!

FTL is dead! Long live FTL! Although, a quick laugh works for me, (and I can get the pages to load).
