Was at Costco (San Francisco Bay Area) today looking for a chess set and stumbled on a pile of these neat little coffee tables.

From the box label
* All wood construction
* 2 nested ottomans
* Mystery accessory kit
* Length: 47.75"
* Width: 28"
* Height: 22.75"

I am sorely tempted to make space for this in my tiny sitting room.

suggest you put "costco" in subject of base post so folks who don't have costco memberships can skip over, thanks -jeff

I saw this in person -- it's absolutely gorgeous and what a price ... the foosball table by the same company is also stellar.

You do not need a membership to buy at costco's. You just pay a surcharge. Last week, when I bought a coffee machine from them online, it charged me 5% extra. I don't know if that is the same percentage for everything.

I'm not knocking the deal - it looks like a great price for a decent quality table - but even "knock off" gamer chic is underselling what the gamer chic company provides. Their price range is beyond my budget, but the craftwork and care they put into their products is apparent - and it's not mass produced for a big box store.

I was walking in Costco the other day, and they also have a very nice poker table that has a cover on it so that it can substitute as a regular table. It would do great for gaming (as long as your board is not too large ala Arkham Horror + Expansions or Railways of the World).

*And* it has the Made In China seal, your assurance of "qualities".

Just don't let the baby/dog/cat chew on it.goo

And avoid breathing while in the room with table...gulp

Yep I saw that too -- for $ 299 you get an octagonal MDF table, diameter 54". Reversible/removable top. One side of the top is "hardwood," the other side a poker surface with cup/chip holders and a felt center circle. Best of all, the top comes off, leaving you a completely felt-lined table and rails that are (I'm guessing now) 2" deep. It's not something you're going to pass on to your children, but could make for a good setup for not much money.

BTW -- the area of a 54" octagon is about 2400 sq inches -- just a little bigger than a 36" x 66" rectangle -- I think that would be big enough for all but the real monster-sized games.

Also, if you know somebody who is a member, they can buy you a few $10 gift cards. Having a gift card acts as a pass to the store, and you can pay for anything over the $10 normally.
