It was close - I would have voted for Series 7: The Contenders except I could never get past the 'last season's winner' thing. And I really thought the deleted scene outside the movie theater should have been the real ending.

I enjoy both the movie version of the Running Man game show and the book version, in different ways.

If I was going to include a computer game, it would've been Speedball.

I was doing movies, and this isn't released yet. I've heard good things about the book though.

I nearly put it in, but if IIRC it wasn't portrayed as televised entertainment but some kind of military project.

No Wheel of Fortune?
No The Price is Right?

The first one often has brain-dead contestants and the other is full of nearly-dead people.

Faulty poll.

Didn't know about it - thanks! And reading up on it I found a link to another one I didn't know about that I'm going to have to find: The Tournament.

I'm sure I'm on an island here, but I'd love a remake of Running Man.

Understood. The book is very good, though I don't think the second and third in the trilogy were not quite as strong.

Not alone.

I'd like both a remake of the film with updated tech and effects and better stalkers (be honest: Dynamo was lame); and a non-cheesy, very gritty, close adaptation of the book (if you haven't read it, it's hugely different from the film).

Agreed, both are good in different ways.

Except, Dynamo was awesome, he sang opera... then electrocuted people.

My vote was still for Deathrace 2000, if only for Sly Stallone hitting a woman.
