Subject: Any startplayer advantage because of the setup? rss

What about startplayer advantage, is it evident? If so, shouldn't this handled as in some Go-Moku implementations or the setup in Renju?

There's no mention of this at BGG, nor on http://homepages.di.fc.ul.pt/~jpn/gv/checkgomoku.htm

FIRST PHASE [DROP] - Each player drops, at each turn, one stone on an empty cell. There are 12 stones for each player.
SECOND PHASE [MOVE] - Each player moves a stone at each turn. A stone can move to an adjacent (orthogonal or diagonal) empty cell.
CAPTURE - When a 5 in a row (orthogonal or diagonal) is achieved, that player removes one opponent stone.
GOAL - The first player with only 4 stones, looses.
