Wow this would be an interesting topic. I wonder how much of this goes on. Anon- arse smacked these guys today in what appears to be an ongoing war of words against STRATFOR (some sort of Govt think tank, with corp clients - which Anon posted all of online.

Kinda like Labyrinth but with code instead of bullets.

You can play Netrunner.

Or you can use any existing game. One player hides some parts to the game, rendering the game unusable. If the other player finds those parts, making the game once again usable, he wins.

An interesting factor is that it's a very close
knit community. When they went after Barr, it
was driven by people who knew him. It's sort of
a mix of competitors and those who feel some
sec companies/people have sold out by supporting
government agencies bent on eliminating personal
freedom.

International cyber-warfare and global cyber-terrorism are subjects that could become fascinating board games. The people with relevant knowledge are probably too busy to develop a game for the public, but I'm reasonably certain such "wargames" already exist within the defense industry.

Yes, it would be kewl to see a two (or more) player game. I envision something like Uplink except played against real people. Ideally, all players will get a chance to play both offense and defense.

Having recently taken a class in "cybersecurity", I agree that defense can be just as much fun as offense!

In the meantime, we can all play here:

Pretty much the definition of hero and terrorist are the
same - just depending on whether you are supporting change
or the establishment.

I took the class as an elective at Villanova University in PA. It was taught by one of the security guru's from Accenture, a consulting company. We did simulated pen tests, studied intrusion detection, learned about SQL injection and XSS, learned how to crack wifi, watched some defcon videos, etc. It was more fun the a barrel of monkeys.

Villanova is planning on offering a certificate diploma in cyber security, which will consist of the class I took and a few others in things like cryptography and networks.
