With my 5 week-old daughter zonked out in my arms as I type this, my resolution is simply to keep playing whenever and however!

1) Play more La Bataille series and get to be really familiar with the rules (at least the Marie Louise, and if possible, Regs XXX also).

2) Start and finish a couple of small 28mm Napoleonics army (around 120 figures or so per army), most likely Brits and French. The Perry plastic kits are just TOOO tempting.

2012 is going to be mostly Napoleonics for me.

I can help you with EotS (VASSAL/PBEM). Just read the rules and let me know when you are ready. It's a bugger, so you may need a few turns to get warmed up and learn the system and its nuances (just as I am doing as we speak).

1. Clean out some of the dead wood that I won't play in order to focus on those things that I will play. In essence decide if I am going to play or collect.

2. Learn the OCS.

3. Consider what is truly needed for some of the monsters and determine if they are physically feasible.

Really just to play more wargames! I own a number I have not played and want to get to the table.

Samurai
Hold the Line
Sekigahara
Space Empires

And a number of others.

Also need to get down to GMT East! (I would love to get up to Stack Academie in Montreal....but a good friend is getting married that weekend. So next year! )

Hoping it will be a great gaming year....cool

I plan to eliminate all impulse buying of games even if that means getting to the $100 (or how ever much) free shipping threshold. I'll wait a little longer to add that last $30 game to hit that free shipping amount. I plan to only buy games I've "researched" or games that regular opponents have and will play. This includes online game shopping at 3 am, when I'm most likely to buy games I'll never play.

For games to actually play:

Fighting Wings I will move on from the stripped down Buffalo Wings to the regular intro rules, to the full 3.0 rules in Whistling Death. And I will rejoice. shake

The Siege of Jerusalem (Third Edition)I had planned to get rolling on this about a month ago but since I found a regular opponent for air combat it has stayed on the shelf. I will get SoJ to the table by say, April.

The Speed of Heat is a pretty complex game but I plan on having the rules read, a solo scenario played, and be ready for f2f games by some time in February.

For new releases It Never Snows and Conflict of Heroes: Guadalcanal – The Pacific 1942 will be played. I've just finished reading the rules for Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles and it looks interesting. I'm playing f2f this weekend and it may end up being something I'll play on Vassal if my gaming buddy doesn't like it.

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game I will play the hell out of this when it's released. Not a wargame but I'll enjoy reverting to my 10 year old self (my age when Star Wars ep. IV came out) with cool pre-painted X-Wings and TIE fighters.

Also, there's a tactical naval game design I've been working on and shelving repeatedly. I plan on having a working prototype by BGG Con.

Tell ya what: On January 1, right after the bell rings and I kiss the missus, I'll post the Wargames on your Table Geeklist. Hop on there with a game or two, or three, or ... and mention that you would like to play it PBEM. You should be able to take care of that resolution quickly.

Good luck! thumbsup

Resolve myself to the fact that nobody in my gaming group wants to play monster wargames, thus, give up the idea of buying them and turn to the PC (AI) to satisfy that fix. Thank you Gary Grigsby's War in the East

Pickup a few key games and sell a bunch that I don't think I'll ever play.

I'd like to get a full game of Total Krieg in this year.

Get a large table (and clear room for it) that is always used just for games and otherwise stays clear.
