Hey Folks,

I've been a BGG user since 2003...I STILL don't understand the forums. How do I browse them? Find the latest posts, find new posts since last visit? I love the Geek, but this is insane. Someone please help!!!

I go to the individual game page and "subscribe" to it. That should give you all of the posts to that forum, but I think you also have to "subscribe" to the thread when you open it the first time or else you will not get all of the additional posts showing up in the subscriptions tab.

I'm no BGG expert so someone else may need to correct the above.

I agree... the best way to stay on top of things is to subscribe to the appropriate forums....

In LnL's case, I started at your board game developer page:
http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamedesigner/2343/mark-h-walke...

Then scrolled through the list of games and subscribed to the individual forums I was interested in. With 4 pages of games, and having to link to each game forum individually (e.g., I subscribed to HotG-reviews, HotG-general, HotG-rules, HotG-sessions, HotG-videos, etc.), that wasn't a painless proposition.

The upside is that all the games I'm interested in show up in the subscription tab. The downside is that there's no easy way to know whether I've subscribed to every forum I'm interested in.

Another way to do it is to set up bookmarks for each game. That's what I did for AP's Panzer Grenadier. Not sure how I did it though, as I can't seem to do in again. Here's the link for that list:

http://boardgamegeek.com/forum/linkeddst/boardgamefamily/fam...

If you manually change the number after 'family' in that link to the family you're interested in, it should work. For example, LnL family is #126 (available on the LnL family page), so putting that in the link gives us this page:

http://boardgamegeek.com/forum/linkeddst/boardgamefamily/fam...

Bookmark that page and the LnL family forums are available in one place. You can do the same thing for all the games a designer made. This is what I bookmarked for your games:

Hope that helps.

then you look at the top left side when you log in under your mail icon there is an obscure icon with a red number - that is the # of items you have subscribed to that have posts.
You start there.

I go to the LnLP page at...

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamepublisher/6025/lock-n-load...

Then go to the linked forums sections and select recent... it will show all threads where something has been posted sorted by date. I think every LnLP game's threads should appear there.

Every time you're on a page with a 'Subscribe' option at the right of the header, you can click on it. You can check Subscriptions by clicking on the 'Next' or 'New' buttons to the right of the BGG avatar, top left of the page. Next will lead you to one page after another, New will display all of them at once. It won't duplicate multiple Subscriptions; I'm subscribed to LnL as a Publisher, WaW as a game family, and Eisenbach Gap as an individual game, for instance - a thread on the Eisenbach gap page would flag up on all 3, but would only create one entry on the Subscriptions page, noting all 3 reasons.

I did not know this. That is a very easy way to follow LnL. Thanks.
