Taking advantage of some early arrivers, six of us launched into a game of Take 6, produced by U.S. Games Systems. The participants were Jerry Maus (who usually HATES card games ... unfortunately, this one was no exception), Jon Comeaux, Eric Syrdal, Jay Ouzts, Lenny Leo and myself.
We played the standard game wherein the first player to reach 66 causes the game to end. At that point, the player with the lowest cumulative score captures the victory. All cards were used.
Here were the round-by-round scores:
Round 1: Greg 1, Eric 2, Jon 6, Lenny 7, Jay 30, Jerry 36
Round 2: Greg 8, Lenny 10, Eric 11, Jon 30, Jay 42, Jerry 62
Round 3: Greg 20, Eric 26, Jon 30, Lenny 51, Jay 58, Jerry 74
(is it any wonder why Jerry didn't like this one?)
The ratings were disappointing. I really enjoy this game as it offers lots of excitement and frustration. Unfortunately, I feel that many are trying to compare a Take 6 vs. an Advanced Civilization. The two games are totally different and must be judged on their own merits.
Eric 6, Greg 6, Jay 4, Jon 4, Lenny 4, Jerry 3
