I've been a gamer all my life but only recently have started getting into the heavier board games. I'm looking for some good entry level type games that I can drag my wife through. I have a feeling that she will be a tough sell on many games so I want to kind of step it up slowly.

So far we have picked up Pandemic and it's expansion On the Brink and we both enjoy it quite well. I think it was just about perfect for an entry level game. I'd like some games that are just as complicated or maybe a step or two deeper.

I've got all the games we own listed on here (45, and some have yet to be played) and I have started a wishlist that has already gotten out of hand. However, even with the ones on my wishlist I don't know where to go next. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I'd recommend The Pillars of the Earth or Stone Age. Both play well with 2 fairly quickly and are a lot of fun.

Good luck.

The science of history is a great bulwark against the stream of Time; in a way it checks this irresistible flood, it holds in a tight grasp whatever it can seize floating on the surface and will not allow it to slip away into the depths of oblivion

+1 for Glen More

For strictly 2 players I'd recommend:

Jaipur
Battle Line

For games that play well with 2 and scale to more:

Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age
Small World
Ticket to Ride

AND since you have magic the gathering listed, if you like card games, AND you obviously like cooperative:

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game would be absolutely perfect.

Here are some my wife enjoys:

Hacienda
Oregon
Saint Petersburg
Archaeology: The Card Game
Dominion
Tigris & Euphrates - I was shocked when my wife said she enjoyed this game. I like it a lot, but I didn't think she would!

Guess "Get a room!" isn't a appropriate answer

I'll look through all the others suggestions instead

Unfortunately Magic is one of the games we have that she doesn't like so I have a feeling Lord of the Rings would probably be on her no thanks list.

Orangemoose - I figured she might like something like those games as well with as much farmville and cityville she plays on facebook.

aliquis - Not if we want to invite people over to play as well.

blondebunbun - Love the Penguin picture!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions (and quick responses) I'll see about showing her a few videos on youtube featuring the games you suggested. Hopefully, she will find a couple that we can play together. I'll post later if we find some or need more help!
