My daughter is definitely ready to roll dice and smash daddy. It's the cards that will make it too tricky for her. So, I'm thinking:

* No cards used at all
* Hearts and claws and numbers work the same as the original
* Every pair of lightning bolts is a wildcard

Haven't tried it yet. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

I'd make 3 bolts for a card.

I have had a good time playing this with my 4 and 6 year olds. The change I made was to remove the tricker cards, leaving only the ones that were simple to understand (VPs, extra green die, etc). Any card I couldn't explain with one sentence I took out, and they did great,

To be fair, I guess that part of why I wanted to not play with the cards is so she wouldn't bend them.

Don't let her handle them. Just leave them on the table in front of her.

Good idea - leave them right next to the bowl of candy that you also intend to prohibit her from touching.

I was thinking more of surrounding the cards with high voltage wires.
