When you click on the "Chronological" link in your Profile to see your Board Game Plays, the resulting list appears in date descending order. I'd like to see this list in date descending order PLUS play ID ascending order. This would still display the played games in the same date order, but plays within a date would be in the order they were logged.

My guess is that it would be as simple as changing a single SQL statement from something like "ORDER BY PlayDate Desc" to "ORDER BY PlayDate Desc, PlayID". But I hate it when people who don't know what they're talking about assume they do...

The current play/detail IDs display order for my chronological games logged for 2014-04-26 is:
509 Dom 2
781 Car 10
532 Dom 3
800 Car 11
581 DoI 4
838 Rob 12
590 Dom 5
654 Sco 6
674 Sco 7
431 DoI 1
688 Sco 8
714 Sco 9

It's not related to the edit date/time either, because I just edited 838 and and it's still between 581 and 590.

An SQL order by:

1. descending date chosen of when the game was played (not the date it was entered),
2. descending play/detail ID

would be perfect and show the order in which it was entered (I log it in the order in which I played it):
838 Rob 12
800 Car 11
781 Car 10
714 Sco 9
688 Sco 8
674 Sco 7
654 Sco 6
590 Dom 5
581 DoI 4
532 Dom 3
509 Dom 2
431 DoI 1

I'd actually prefer it in descending date plus ascending play ID so everything within a date would be in the order it was logged. Like this:

2014-04-27
Play 1
Play 2
Play 3
2014-04-26
Play 1
Play 2
Play 3

But I could live with it in descending date plus descending play ID order. I just want my plays in order within each date, regardless of whether it's descending or ascending.

Ascending play ID order would give you (over 2 days):
4
5
6
1
2
3

whereas decending play ID order would give (over 2 days):
6
5
4
3
2
1

I'd prefer the ascending play IDs.

Yes, but I'm not suggesting that the list be ordered just by play ID, but by date and play ID. If you go to your "My Geek" page, and click on the "Chronological" link under "Board Game Plays", you'll see that the resulting page orders your plays on date, and then arbitrarily within that date. When I play multiple games in a day, I number them so I can see their order later.

The best solution would be to have a "sequence" field for each play so this number could be put into it and then used for sorting, rather than play ID, since plays might not be logged in the order they were played.

Agreed, date grouping, descending; then play ID descending.

That'll make it even easier than deleting a log that was entered out of sequence to get the play IDs correct; but it involves changing the database structure, SQL queries, and the UI. Just adding an order by PlayID descending, to chronological queries is easy and unlikely to break other things.
