All the examples and reviews that I have seen focus on ground targets. Is there any Air to Air combat in this game?

There are about 30 counters which depict enemy aircraft. So yes there is Air to Air combat. And the targets are not always ground targets but also enemy bombers.

Each counter has a ground site on one side. When you draw counters to populate the sites around the target, you get as many sites as you draw counters.

The enemy aircraft occupy the opposite side of the counter as the ground sites. However, instead of depicting an aircraft, some counters display the words "No Bandit." When you draw counters to populate the airspace with enemy bandits, you're never quite sure how many you're actually going to get.

This gives the player opportunity to make a tense decision. Do you go heavy AtA in case you draw a lot of bandits at the expense of your AtG munitions? Or do you gamble that you won't get many bandits, and go light on AtA munitions? I've been hosed several times by over or underestimating the bandit draw.
