Will Martin address the supposed imbalance in this game?

What do you propose requires fixing?

In AFAOS, there was a clear dominant strategy, but I've yet to hear the same about Test of Fire.

It seems that most feel the rebels have a pretty easy time holding out. Have you found that the union can win?

I have only played it once, and won with the Union. That doesn't mean I believe the game to be balanced, but I'm curious about perceived imbalance in any case.

I am interested in how the Union can win as well. The rebels can pack th vp areas and just keepnrotatingbfresh troops in.

I don't think my adversary played particularly well. I routed several of her units, and won with a rout card.

I have played only once (Union victory), but to this point I have seen nothing to lead me to the conclusion that the game is broken.

I played my first game as the union and won and loved it. The game is brilliant in its simplicity that gives a civil war Bull Run feel. I find some gamers can't figure a good winning strategy for a game and because of that it is unbalanced. If you feel that the game is unbalanced for the Confederates then you should call dibs on being them against whoever you are playing, but from what I'm reading after the initial complaint, plus in my game, the Union can win.

One thing my son and I learned is that the Union has a good chance to
win using multiple Rout cards. Just keep pounding the Confederates with
your numerical superiority until he's lost half a dozen units or more,
then play your Rout cards. That's how my son beat me.

This could work either way. Defending is powerful in this game, so the Confederates could win this way too!

I do not think the game is broken, in fact its feeling of attrition seems very historically thematic to me from the accounts I have read of 1st Mannassas.
