Hi All,
Just wondering. When do you take down your holiday decorations?
1) Tree
2) Outdoor Lights
3) Other indoor decor

We've just taken the tree down and we're packing the stockings, wreaths and garlands from the indoors. I'm taking down the outside lights tuesday.
How about you?

Tree is down and packed (artificial soblue). Decorations put away.

No outside lights to take down.

Christmas 2011 is officially in the history book.

Everything comes down today. Our city picks up trees all week, and everything else mostly fits in 2 trunks. We haven't done outside lights in a while. My kids are always disappointed, but it is a lot of work & I'd rather concentrate on having an easy holiday season. I told them that when they are teenagers, they get to put the lights up.

Most everything was packed up Friday. I moved everything back up to the attic yesterday. Nothing out now unless we missed something.

We took the tree down the day after Christmas.

I had screwed up and screwed in the screws in the tree stand too soon -- the tree wasn't completely in the stand yet. Once it was fixed, there were three holes in the trunk, up out of the water. It dried out very quickly.

Normally, I'd be taking the tree down today. I've got all the other decorations packed in the same boxes as the tree stuff, so they go up and come down at the same time. I'd love to do outdoor lights, but it seems like too much effort for us.

Edit: This year is the first we've had a compost pile. We just took it out back and dumped it behind our pile. Our city composts them for us, if we want to haul it to the central park.

I bought a real tree for this year. And I just recently bought a reciprocating saw to end the festivities in three pieces!

Hey!

Wait a minute...

Don't you all wait for twelfth night on the 6th of January?

Yikes! Enjoy the season until it's really over...

Come on. Keep that holiday spirit until the holidays are really over.

The kids go back to school in 2 days, so the holidays are over for our family.

We take down all of our decorations on New Years Eve day. We also do a total house, garage, and storage building cleaning and organization. We do this because we like the symbolism of starting the New Year with a clean house and a blank slate. Plus it builds up our appetite for all the junk food and drinks we have at night while bringing in the New Year.

Yes, remember it when I lived with my parents some light years ago; Jan. 6th.
Since I live by myself, no tree, no decoration.

NAUGHT to have this *monkey-poo flung* into PRS, while I shall have to believe that neither the Christ-child NOR his parents, ever were confronted with this 'situation', since these HAD NONE at the 'times', or ever, that I was aware "of"!

I keep the Nativity set and window candles up through Epiphany, but took down the artificial tree and outdoor lights today. The tree came down because we needed to reclaim some living space, and the outdoor lights were taken in because today was milder than the projections for the rest of the week.
