On the Crackshot marine card it says that a marine may make attacks from adjacent enemy spaces. I think that this should be a 'standard' marine ability, since it would assist the marines, without unbalancing the game mechanic. Any thoughts?

Not a good idea. It undermines the range concept in attacks, making the Shotgun far more reliable than it's intended to be. Additionally, it gives the marines the flexibility to shoot around a corner without actually using movement points, so they could just move up to a corner and unload as many rounds as they need to.

Leave it as an ability card.

Considering the endless advantages granted to the invaders, this would be a fair option as it increases marine survivability by a few percent. Additionally this ability makes sense since a marine would fire around a corner if he/she could.

Your point about the shotgun is valid but the same principle (essentually adding +1 aim) applies to most weapons, doesnt it?

Then it would be a better idea to weaken the invaders. This will cause multiple choke points for the marines, and that's no fun.

Consider making "Crackshot" a new marine order instead. The marine uses the order before making an attack to gain all the benefits of the Crackshot ability card.
