In the Countdowns are for quitters! Here's the official Chit Chat Count-Up! Post away!-thread this pic was posted:

Now, I'm not much of a train enthousiastic, but I do like the steampunk look of this vintage bullet train.

Does anyone know where this train is? Museum/ city?

I paged through www.shakespeareexpress.com where this pic is hosted, but couldn't find it. Maybe I didn't look deep enough though. But why would I, if I can tap from Chitchat's wisdom?...

This is the National Railway Museum in York, England, see http://www.nrm.org.uk/

The picture shows the "Duchess of Hamilton", a Coronation Class pacific from the LMS. It is shown in the streamlined configuration as used on the "Coronation Scot" train (London - Glasgow in 6 hrs 30 min)

My Geekbadge shows an A4 pacific from the rival company who ran the "Flying Scotsman" - but that took 7hrs 30min from London to Edinburgh ... non-stop! (there were special "water troughs" at various locations on the main line so the train could refill its tanks on the move)

Easiest to refer you to
