This is a nice article about a Pittsburgh Public Schools/Carnegie Science Center program that is using hands-on game design to teach math and science to girls in urban neighborhoods. It says that they are going to work on creating business plans for how to make and sell their games online. Worth reading if you want to feel good about the hobby (or if you just like to read people pointing out shortcomings of Monopoly):
