We sent out the below news release to all of our e-newsletter subscribers today. 4 days left and we need some Kickstarter magic !
Spearpoint 1943 Map Expansion on Kickstarter- 4 DAYS REMAIN and we really need a boost!
We could use your help as our Kickstarter project for the Spearpoint 1943 Map Expansion draws to a close on the morning of January 8th. Kickstarter is all or nothing. That means that if our project expires and we're just $5 shy of our $7500 goal, we will not receive any funding from our backers. We are currently shy of our goal by approximately $3000 but there is still a little time. We're asking all of our Spearpoint fans and fans in general to act now and make a pledge if you haven't already. You'll receive a great game in the process, a lot of bonus perks, and help us send our 3rd title to print this month. There are even a few support levels that include the base game and the expansion- both at a discount.
Here are a few key points and updates regarding our project:
- If we fail to reach our $7500 goal by January 8, we will not have the funding required to print this expansion anytime soon and we'll have to shelve it until we do.
We posted a Designer Diary on BGG News about this expansion. The Diary goes into depth about the development of the game and leads off with an excerpt of Mark H. Walker's fiction for scenario 1. Don't miss this!
This expansion was nominated on BGG as one of the most anticipated releases of 2012 on a BGG user's Geeklist! Please the entry to help the expansion make the cut into the Top 20.
Our project was featured by Kickstarter staff and is currently running through a front-page rotation at kickstarter.com in the Board and Card Games Category for the remaining 4 days.
Update 5 features ten questions with artist Marc von Martial. Marc and Byron discuss and preview the game's artwork.
Update 6 links to a solo playthrough Photo AAR of Scenario 2. 36 photos provide a captioned, visual account of a single playthrough of Scenario 2.
Update 7 is for miniatures fans. This update presents photos of miniatures used in place of the Spearpoint 1943 cards. If you have 15mm minis, you can optionally and easily play the expansion using them on the boards instead of the cards from Spearpoint- and it looks quite stunning.
We announced a $10,000 stretch goal with Update 9- if we reach this amount by project close, with the help of Marc von Martial, we'll create and include six additional double-sided 4" square terrain tiles and we'll poll our backers on which ones to add to the mix from a list of possibilities.
We've had a lot of fans and backers out there really step up to help by sharing links to the project, talking about it with friends, and posting about it on their blogs, BGG, and Twitter. We really appreciate that and we need it right now more than ever!
All the best for a 2012 of great wargaming! We hope you'll help us lead off the New Year right by supporting our 3rd title.
