There was some Blueberry Stonyfield yogurt in the fridge at work. I'm pretty sure that I was the one who brought it. It says it expired Nov 16 2011. It was pretty tasty.

What!? All the cool kids are doing it!

Just try to relax, remain calm. If you have any Doobie Brothers go ahead and play it. It should only last 8 - 10 hours.

I've learned to check the dates, but we just made a cake that expired in 2007. Wasn't bad.

Oh, I checked the date first. Then opened it. I was hungry.

My mouth tastes a little fuzzy.

Try some chocolate. It might negate the effect.

Yes, we are.

I've already eaten all the old yogurt in our fridge. I think tonight I'll stuff a tub behind the almost-empty ketchup bottle. It should last for a year or two there before it's found again.

It probably wasn't toxic if that's what you're worried about. More than likely, it's the "expiration" date the FDA mandates manufacturers put on refrigerated foods.

And, no, only the geeky kids are doing it. Cool kids trick them into it.

Wait a minute... yogurt is just spoiled milk anyway, can it even go bad?

Ehh, you'll be fine!

Just where was Jeff when this atrocity occurred? Does he have a reliable alibi? Always look to the husband.

I used to work with a woman who swore to exactly this notion. In fact, she would keep containers of Yoplait in her desk drawer for weeks on end before eating them. (No, her desk was not refrigerated).
When I suggested that this was not the healthiest practice, she insisted that yogurt was already spoiled and could not possibly get more spoiled. gulp

What does fuzzy taste like?

Imagine that your taste buds are dead or dying. Not all of them; just some.

Or imagine that you put a film over your tongue, but you can sort of taste through it.

Now, I'm not talking about the idea that my tongue feels fuzzy. No. It tastes fuzzy. Fuzzy. It's a scientific term.

That reminds me of a thing we did in school. It was probably during the last year in our version of high school, when everybody did some practical jokes before they left for good.

The teachers desk in our class room had a locked drawer, however the key was lost. Somehow we managed to open and also to close it again. This was very hard but possible to do. Before the summer holidays (when pretty much the whole building was closed for a few months) we took a jar of yogurt, opened the lid, and put it in the drawer and closed it again. Locked of course, with no key, and a few hot summer months ahead.

I have no idea what the result was, but it was probably not very pleasant.

Amy, be prepare, your superpowers will arise in a few hours.

That's the big difference between Spain and USA, as you can see in movies:

If you eat something expired in USA you became a superhero.

If you do that in Spain you get a tumor. :D
