DUNGEON GUARDIANS

As the moderator for this game and prior to the start of the game, I will input the Dungeon Guardian names into RANDOM.ORG to create a randomized list of Dungeon Guardians. This list will determine which Dungeon Guardian(s) inhabit the 10 dungeons and will be for my eyes only. The initial 10 Dungeon Guardians will be assigned in sequential dungeon order from D1 to D10. Replacements will be assigned in the order in which Heroes resposition themselves.

On a player's turn, I request that the player post his movement orders in a similar format to this:

Using this format makes it easy for me to update the board without confusion, as well as making it easy for the player to cut and paste the battle composition into the Fight Battles Phase (see below).

FIGHT BATTLES PHASE

Just as in the board game, each battle will be resolved individually. For each battle, I request that the player post each battle resolution in its own post in a similar format to this:

Karkoth (2 D wounded, 3 M, 2 WZ with Robe of the Archmage) vs. Nerath (3 WZ)

REGARDING DIE ROLLS

As an example, if you are rolling for 2 FS, you would create a roll for 2d6. Doing this, though, will return a summation of two d6 rolls. Clicking on the roll will reveal " + ". You then have to manually determine the number of hits (rolls of 6 or higher).

But if you attach c[6] (for "count 6 and higher as successes") to the die roll (for example, 2d6c[6]), the roll will return a number that indicates the number of rolls that were 6 or higher. This ensures there's not doubt as to the number of hits that were rolled. For dungeons inhabited by at least one 7+ to-hit Dungeon Guardian, use c[7], and by at least one 8+ to hit Dungeon Guardian, use c[8].

INCORRECT DIE ROLLS

If the attacker makes an incorrect die roll (uses the wrong die and/or not the correct number of dies) and the error benefits the attacker, all rolls after the incorrect roll will be void.

If the attacker makes an incorrect die roll (uses the wrong die and/or not the correct number of dies) and the error benefits the defender, all rolls after the incorrect roll will stand.

It's the attacker's responsibility to roll the correct type and number of dice, so they will never benefit from incorrect rolls.

INTERRUPTS

Many of the cards in the game allow a player to take action during different phases of his realm's turn and the different phases of another realm's turn. Because of this, the realm whose turn it is should query for interrupts after concluding a phase before proceeding to the next phase. Alternatively, at the start of a realm's turn, the other player can state in which phase(s) he'd like to play a card.

HIT PRIORITY LISTS

In order to move the battles along, each player should post a Hit Priority List for the 8 piece types (WS excluded, since its priority depends on what pieces it's carrying), which would be used by the attacker (who's resolving the battle) without having to wait for the defender's hit assignments. Since game priorities tend to change based on the state of the board, if there's an upcoming battle in which the defender wants to assign hits as they happen, he should say so at the conclusion of the opposing realm's Move phase.

Typically, a Hit Priority List will always begin with:

D (first hit) > FS

Here's an example of a complete Hit Priority List:

D (first hit) > FS > SE > WE > F > WZ > M > C > D (second hit)

THINGS NEW PLAYERS MIGHT OVERLOOK

1. When conquering a land space controlled by an enemy realm, you score a VP based on the original owner (colored border) of the land space, not on which realm currently controls it:
1a. If the original owner is an enemy realm, you score a VP
1b. If the original owner is an allied realm, you liberate the land space and do not score a VP
1c. If the original owner is your realm, you do not score a VP

Remember this when you're considering reconquering one of your realm's original land spaces or liberating an allied realm's land space. If you can't defend it properly, the enemy might score another easy VP.

2. Since all battles occur simultaneously, Treasure cards earned in a Fight Battles phase can not be used until after all of the battles have been resolved.

3. Dungeon Guardians with Heroes Need 7+/8+ to Hit ability: Make sure you understand the rule book on this (page 14). Also, the ability applies for the duration of the battle, even if the associated DG is destroyed before the battle concludes.

4. Some Event cards belonging to one realm can be played for the benefit of another realm, which is typically done in alliance games and FFA games in which players strike deals.

Crikey that was a lot of misses. However, the Nerath FS perishes with no Karkoth casualties, victory to the armies of darkness.

Round 1:
First Strike
The undead wizard chokes the elves from a distance: 1d10c[6] = (1) = 0

But the force is not strong in this one.

Karkoth:
The zombie rushes to devour elf-flesh: 1d6c[6] = (3) = 0

Vailin:
The elf fires a shot wildly: 1d6c[6] = (3) = 0
While the siege engine is forced on the defensive: 1d8c[6] = (1) = 0

An exciting first round!

Round 2
First Strike:
The necromancer now attempts to rip the elf's skeleton free: 1d10c[6] = (9) = 1

It's a gruesome sight to behold. So much for that elf's immortality.

Karkoth:
The zombie now targets the elves piloting the siege engine: 1d6c[6] = (3) = 0

Vailin:
The siege engine manages another defensive shot: 1d8c[6] = (6) = 1

The zombie is flung into the depths of the ocean! Both sides lose their FS.

Round 3: Karkoth 1 WZ vs Vailin 1 SE

First Strike:
The necromancer animates the elf skeleton to tear down the siege engine: 1d10c[6] = (4) = 0

Elf bones are too frail it seems.

Vailin:
The siege engine fires another shot: 1d8c[6] = (2) = 0

Another exciting battle round!

Round 4:

The necromancer now creates a vortex directly under the siege engine: 1d10c[6] = (10) = 1

The SE, and the elves who pilot it, are sucked into another dimension of pure darkness. Victory to Karkoth, with 1 WZ remaining.

Round 1

Round 1 is over with no hits (shocking).

Round 2
The zombie tries gnawing: 1d6c[6] = (1) = 0
While the Elf continues slingshotting: 1d6c[6] = (1) = 0

Beginning to question the sanity of this decision in ....

Round 3
The zombie now attempts shadowboxing: 1d6c[6] = (2) = 0
The elf tries striking with the slingshot itself: 1d6c[6] = (4) = 0

Shockingly, they both suck at fighting.

Round 4
The zombie goes for a maggot attack in frustration: 1d6c[6] = (5) = 0
While the Elf attempts to jab the zombie with his pointy ears: 1d6c[6] = (2) = 0

And this will likely be the longest battle this game.

Round 5
The zombie pulls out his elementary statistics book he never got around to reading and smacks the elf with it: 1d6c[6] = (4) = 0
While the Elf now tries the other ear: 1d6c[6] = (3) = 0

I hope everyone else is as amused with this as I am.

Round 6
The zombie secretly wishes the Veteran Warlord were here as he attacks with halitosis: 1d6c[6] = (5) = 0

No wonder they can't hit each other!

Buh duh duh duh... another round bites the dust!

Eager to break the stalemate, the zombie tries running around in circles: 1d6c[6] = (1) = 0
The elf spins as fast as he can to keep up: 1d6c[6] = (3) = 0

The dizzy contenders still land no hits.

Feeling like Rocky, the zombie knows he's gone the distance: 1d6c[6] = (4) = 0
Feeling like Bullwinkle, the elf is confused as to what's going on: 1d6c[6] = (1) = 0

I hope you're happy Matt. Just for that, I'm going to keep trying to kill your elf. Ineffectually.

Not to be outdone in this evenly matched duel, the elf flails back: 1d6c[6] = (4) = 0

This slap fight is going nowhere.

Round 12
The zombie now goes for the eye gouge: 1d6c[6] = (5) = 0
The elf craftily puts a hand up in front of his nose: 1d6c[6] = (6) = 1

And it's over! Thank god! The zombies arm falls off in the attempt and he disintegrates. Victory to Vailin, which this point I'm ok with.

The skeletons do nothing.

The Fighter attempts to rip into its squishy flesh: 1d10c[7] = (8) = 1
The BP oozes back: 2d10c[6] = (4 2) = 0

Oh thank God! Let's keep at it, then. The Black Pudding is cleaved in two by the fighter's strike, and only half keeps attacking.

The necromancer tries opening an abyss beneath the pudding and banishing the stupid thing: 1d10c[7] = (8) = 1

It's a go! Alright, new dimension for that nasty brute. Victory to Karkoth, +2 and a treasure.
