So I emailed a company for replacement parts.

This is the email I got today.

"Package #1984 has been shipped. You can gauge approximately how much time it should take for the package to arrive based on the time between when sent and when it was received."

Make sure there are no hidden cameras in the package. That's a suspicious order #

He's looking real sharp in his 1940's fedora. He's got nerves of steel, an iron will, and several other metal-themed attributes. His fur is water tight and he's always up for a fight.

He's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action. He's a furry little flat-foot who'll never flinch from a fray. He's got more than just mad skills, he's got a beaver tail and a bill.

You can't argue with that kind of logic.

Wait, Wizkids transported the pieces themselves, and are therefore to blame? I'd have thought they would use a postal carrier or courier.

In fact, you can gauge it exactly!

It's badly worded any way you look at it, but I wonder if there is a core of sense to the message...

Perhaps the original text was written for the case of returned items (where a customer sent a damaged item back and they sent out a replacement). So, they're saying the time required to send a replacement item to you is approximately the same as the time taken for you to send the broken item to them. But then maybe they used the same form email when just sending out replacement parts...

Maybe...

Reminds me of the startup splash for the English translation of Gothic II: "Please wait while the VDFS file system initializes. This could take up to some amount of time."

They still just stuck the replacement pieces in a box without any bubblewrap/packing nuts etc

Considering the pieces broken the first time when they were shipped in custom moulded plastic one would think wizkids would do a little better the second time around and actually try to protect the breakable pieces!

Maybe they sent it through BabelFish a couple of times ... and that's what came out.

The number one customer complaint is "my x didn't get here when you said it would". It's also the most common customer service call "when will my x get here?".

Well, if Wiz Kids opened one of their FC boxes for the ships, they probably weren't broken in transit!
