I'm picking up KaD later this week and need to pick up the right number of sleeves.

I've seen the total card count in the marketing materials, but can anyone tell me the card breakdown among the following:

# of Encounter cards
# of player deck cards (the sphere cards)
# of Heroes
# of Quest cards

I guess I am looking for totals in each category not simply how many unique card there are. So if there are 20 unique player deck cards with three copies each, there would be 60 total cards.

Thanks! I appreciate it.

hmmm interesting.

So 11 new card types. How are they splitting this among the 4 spheres? Same with the leaders?

So tons and tons of encounter cards, not so many new player cards. Well, given another 6 months, we'll have a much wider selection of player cards finally.

That would add up to 13 whistle

I got my copy today - it's actually like this:
3 Leadership
3 Tactics
2 Spirit
2 Lore
1 Neutral

Edit: sorry Darksbane, I missed that you said including heroes - that's right.

Do you sleeve each set of cards differently? If so, what types of colored sleeves do you use for the different types of cards?

I use black sleeves for encounter cards, and yellow sleeves for my deck.

Heroes and quest cards are in clear sleeves. But that is just me.

Those who play other/more card games could give you other ideas I'm sure, but the approach I use doesn't cause any problems as far as I am aware.

I've heard of folks using individual colors for the spheres, but some argue that gives some things away.

Me, I'm just too cheap to invest in so many colors!

I use black sleeves for encounter cards, white sleeves for player cards, clear sleeves for quest cards, and matching colored sleeves (green, blue, red, purple) for the four sphere colors of hero cards.

Yeah, those would have been a great thing to have upon the game's release. Perfect for anyone just starting to sleeve their cards now.

Too expensive, I think. I can get twice as many clear ones for half the price and they look the same!

If I get a killer deck or two, maybe I'll spring for a pack or two of the player sleeves. Or maybe I will get one just for the heroes. But I don't see the point, otherwise, except give FFG more of my money!

Yeah, since the backs of the encounter and player cards distinguish themselves and you need to see both sides of the quest cards I just use clear sleeves for everything except hero cards. I'm currently using white sleeves for the heroes but will probably eventually give them color-coded backs (red/purple/green/blue). Color-coded sleeves for different types of player decks sounds fun too but becomes really inconvenient if you mix and match.
