I have already printed the files to get started: rules book, events book, enemy book and adventure book.

What other helpfull files should I print to make it easier my gameplay?

I mean, I have tried to play for the first time and I need some help...

Thanks.

That's all you need. Anything else will just complicate matters.

The "cards" are nice, but I never know if they're up-to-date with the latest rules or anything, so I'd probably recommend against them (not to mention they'd be a lot of work to make if you haven't played the game enough to know that you love it).

Thanks for the answer, Tim.

What about examples of play? Do you recommend something?

Simon has an example of play in the files section: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/52175/example-of-play

I haven't looked at it myself, but it might be useful to you.

Absolutely essential to read the example of play.

Also, these two threads are good too.

Your setup for Doctor Who - or - How do you play?

Nah! Not if you're like me and don't mind playing it completely wrong a few times! It's still great fun, even if you get it all wrong. The story comes out, however tragic. ninja

Too funny. Yeah, it takes a play or two (or ten) to get the bugs out for yourself.

You need patience.
And then you need some more patience.
======================================
Its a great game.

Take one step at a time. Keep it simple at first. The sample of play is a good start.

As you start to understand the quirks of the game, the better the game becomes.

Learn the rules and then apply them. Some will make perfect sense.

The matrix is the game.

Six parts that lead you thru the game.

Location, event 1, event 2, characters, goals, enemy, plot

Everything else is dressing.

The Doctor Who game is a journey. Enjoy the ride.

Also get to enjoy your companions. This part of the game makes it unique.

Live the story and regenerate often.

Is it a poem or a song? Sounds fine...

In the name of the newers, thanks for the melody advise.
