I have recently been reading a fair amount of historical text on the Polish-Soviet conflict of 1919-1920 and the Winter War (Finns-Soviet) of 1939-1940.

This has made me wonder if there are any war games out there on these specific wars. I'd love to see them if there are any.

Thanks

There are a number of interesting games on both conflicts!

Among recent titles, Strike of the Eagle has been highly rated.

Winter War by Jim Dunnigan is one of the better S&T efforts.

Funny that you 'inquired' about those as I'm about to LAUNCH an 'appeal' for some others to enjoin 'moi' on designing several with these here:

Now, I would prefer several participants being FROM their respective nationalities that I'll be 'covering', ONCE they were unveiled as this transpired. It is based upon Europe Aflame except with this one being extensively reconfigured with newer 'concepts' added upon it overall. Just from the different 'aesthetic' with the BLACK and COLOR silhouettes 'markers', then those shall distinguish "Winter War" apart with "Continuation War" in these regards, while the 'stands' could become utilized within just about any for theirs, to include their "Civil/Liberation War".

Winter War is indeed a classic.

Actually, that game was not designed by the prolific Jim Dunnigan. It was a rare "outside" design published by SPI.

BTW, the ABC radio news (at noon Eastern Time, USA) featured commentary by Mr. Dunnigan... in his capacity a military expert, not as a wargame designer!

Columbia Games once published a scenario on the Polish/Russian war compatible with EastFront.

If you email them I'm sure they can get you a copy.

Avalanche Press published Winter Fury: The Battle of Tolvajärvi 1939 and Blood on the Snow: The Battle of Suomussalmi a which can be linked into one game.

Avalanche Press also did a Panzer Grenadier supplement, Panzer Grenadier: Arctic Front, that covered the Finnish-Soviet battles of 1939/40.

This isn't a stand-alone game, however, so you need at least Eastern Front to play most of them and Road to Berlin and Battle of the Bulge to play them all.
