I don't want to "overpimp" it with minis or things like that. I'm looking for gadgets that could improve efficiency and the looks of the game. More specifically: easy storage ideas, cardholders, upgraded pawns for VPs or Attack power and things like that.

Some ideas in the picture gallery are great, but I'm looking for more! What do you use? Any suggestions?

You can download templates for the card boxes:

And you can buy counter trays:

And you can really pimp the game with markers like this:

Sure you don't want miniatures for the game?

I scanned the counter sheets, printed them onto label paper, and stuck them on Scrabble tiles. Units on standard size tiles, weapons on mini size.

Yeah, and it's still a work in progress. I've got most of CC:E done. If I don't run out of steam I'll start CC:M next. Then CC: P, etc.

They look good, but I like the tactile element best. It makes handling all those little chits much more enjoyable. And they make a nice "click" when you slap them down onto the plexi

I did the same thing with Twilight Struggle.

They have templates for sleeved and unsleeved cards so make sure you choose the correct template

Ken, for cardholders we use the four that come in an abstract board game called "Ingenious". They are sturdy and stable. (Ingenious is also fun to play, so you won't be overspending on just the holders.)

A few things I did:

2 18 x 24 pieces of Plexi (one for map, the other for the track and player aids)
1 20 x 48 table from Target for setting game up
Sleeved cards, kept in UltraPro boxes
GMT Trays for counters (one for each nationality)
Page protectors for scenario and nationality cards (in binder)
Recycled Eclipse gum 60-piece container for Smoke/Fire counters
Recycled Altoids tins for objective counters and Partisan weapons
Neutralized .50 caliber round for Initiative Marker
Figures from Attack! game for Firepower marker and Melee strengths
Recycled Memoir 44 Campaign Bag to hold everything but the Plexi and the table

Most important, tweak it to make it your own and have fun doing it. I'm convinced that coming up with a storage solution and adding things to make the game run to your taste is part of the fun of any game, war or otherwise. But then, the aptitude test I took in High School said I should have been a file clerk.

Above suggestions are all good. Sleeved cards are a big help- GMT cards seem to have thick profiles that do not slide past each other.

These retracting key-card holders are great for checking LOS:
