Folks,
I just came across a recommendation for groupspaces.com in a thread related to improving your gaming group (not far away from this one.) Groupspaces seems to be a site that allows you to set up a group, then an activity with spaces and scheduling which can be used for boardgame nights.

I wanted to see if anyone is using this or a similar website or online tool to schedule, open spots, communicate and facilitate RSVPs for your gaming group. And if so, then please share what you think.

I'm looking for something free as our group isn't that large. My hesitation with groupspaces is individual signup is either public, limited to those with an email tied to the group (assuming an email with the website of your organization in the second half) or through application.

I currently do all through email and it would be nice to have an online solution. Thanks in advance for your thoughts as always.

M

Have you thought about creating a Facebook group? We did that for a local Minecraft server we set up and it seemed to work really well. Most everybody is already on there and most people check Facebook fairly often so there is less of a hassle trying to get people involved with it.

Main ones I've seen used and used myself are...

1) For the more private groups, http://evite.com

2) For the more public groups especially those looking for more members, http://meetup.com (not free for the organizers though)

3) For organizing reservations to specific games/tables, especially at larger events, http://eventbrite.com (free unless you're charging admission, then they take a commission)

We've been pretty successful growing our group with facebook and a BGG Guild here. I also troll meetup.com and ENworld's "GamersSeekingGamers" thing.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I've used http://www.doodle.com to schedule major sessions (e.g. 6 players for Here I Stand). Free and works well enough.

Thanks for the addition. Looks like a nice, clean, simple interface. I'll definitely be checking it out.
