Is anyone still playing this? Is it playable? Or not worth the time?

Yes and yes. It's very playable although it takes some effort to learn due to the scope of what is being simulated. Best to start simple and with only the obvious key rules, then add a few more rules each time you play. It is by no means without flaws but it is a great simulation.

A very hardcore game simulation of the 80's. One of my favorite games of all time, but it is very crunchy, and you really have to go through it step by step. But once you have played it a while, it's really tasty.

A little dated now. Long ago, we used it as a plug in for an RPG campaign for the last tank battles for Twilight: 2000.

To anyone who wants a not so chruncy set of modern rules I reccomend the World At War game set by Lock and Load Publication. It used chit activation and is the same scale. Set in 1985.

Just scored a copy from a friend, used to play it 30+ years ago, looking forward to it! The maps are ugly as sin but the system is solid.
