10:15pm - Mission Results Posted - Monitor’s Satellite Chats Open
10:30pm - Dawn

WIN CONDITIONS

For Evil:
If three of the five Earth’s are destroyed, Evil Wins.
If the Matter/Anti-Matter Track hits 0, Evil wins.

For Good:
If all Evil players are removed from the game and the Anti-Matter track is five or above, Good wins.
If FIFTEEN Critical Mission points are achieved, the Anti-Monitor Falls and good wins.

GAME TRACKS

There are several tracks in the game that are affected by in game events.

If three of the Earth Tracks hit zero, then Good loses and Evil wins. These are decreased via the players failing Missions.

If the Anti-Matter Track hits zero, then Good loses and Evil wins. This track is decreased via Earth Tracks making it to certain levels, Mission Lose Consequences and the Secondary tracks making it to certain levels.

There are also four other Secondary Tracks, that cause in game effects as they decrease. These will decrease regardless of whether Missions pass or fail. The four tracks are: Psycho-Pirate, Monitor, Pariah and Shadow Demons.

THE BATTLE BETWEEN MATTER AND ANTI-MATTER

There are two main sides to the game Harbinger/Matter and Anti-Monitor/Anti-Matter. The Anti-Matter Squad act as delegates of the Anti-Monitor while the Seer Masons act as delegates of the Harbinger. During the game as Anti-Matter gets stronger, the Anti-Matter Squad will receive powers based on how much they have gained over Matter. The Seer Masons do not gain anything if they are able to stem the Anti-Matter tide, but they do ensure Anti-Matter doesn’t gain powers to use against Good.

The battle will be directly affected by the Missions the players go on.

EARTHS

Failing Missions will cause the Earth Tracks to be reduced. Once three worlds have been reduced to zero, the game will end and Evil will win.

Earth-1 = 5 (3 is the safe threshold)
Earth-2 = 6 (3 is the safe threshold)
Earth-S = 4 (2 is the safe threshold)
Earth-X = 4 (2 is the safe threshold)
Earth-4 = 4 (2 is the safe threshold)

SECONDARY TRACKS

Psycho Pirate Track: If this track hits zero, a player will be randomly converted to the Evil Team.

Shadow Demons Track: If this track hits zero, the Shadow Demons will attack each Earth still alive. The game will be paused as players will be immediately forced to attend Missions to fight the Shadow Demons. Missions will be for three to five players and will range in difficulty from seven to ten with Tactics, Power and Combat counting as positive.

Monitor Track: If this track hits zero, one player in the game will die, targeted by the Anti-Monitor Squad.

Pariah Track: If this track hits zero, if there is a planet below the ‘safe threshold’ it will automatically die. If there are multiple planets below the safe threshold, just the weakest will die. If there are no planets below the safe threshold, then the weakest planet will lose two life points.

SKILLS AND ROLES:

Passive Priest – There will be two unaware Passive Priests in the game. While they are alive, alignments will be revealed during the game. The Passive Priests could be good or evil.

Mission Generals – There will be three unaware Mission Generals in the game. While they are alive, Talents required for Missions will be revealed publicly. The Mission Generals could be good or evil.

Anti-Matter Squad – There will be an undisclosed amount of members of the Anti-Matter Squad. They will know each other and share a chat. They will gain or lose powers based on the battle between The Harbinger/Matter and the Anti-Monitor/Anti-Matter. The Anti-Matter Squad are the Max Evils in the game.

Saboteur - The will be one Saboteur in the game. The Saboteur is Evil and a member of the Anti-Matter Squad. Each Mission day, they will be able to change one Mission after they have been announced and the Mission Generals have received the pertinent information. The Mission Generals will not get the new Mission Information.

Masons – There will be two Masons in the game. If someone uses Investigate Player, they receive the view as well as the player activating the area on Monitor’s Satellite. They know each other and share a chat. They start the game as guaranteed Good. However, there is a possibility of conversion so, their alignment may change.

MISSIONS

Missions will follow the same structure as the board game Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game in which each of the superheroes will have five talents. The five talents will be: Tactics, Flight, Power, Intellect, and Combat.

Missions will be for five players, no more and no less.

There will be a minimum of three Missions to a maximum of five Missions available to go on per day. You can attempt any or all Missions posted.

On each Mission there will be two to four of the Talents needed to successfully complete the Mission.

Each Mission will have an overall score to successfully complete the Mission. Some may have a score to partially complete the Mission as well.

Players will add Talent Cards from their hand, with the Talents require adding value to the overall score of the Mission and those not required, detracting from the score of the Mission.

There is one Destiny deck of thirty cards each built at the start of the game of six cards randomly chosen from each of the five Talents. The Destiny deck is shuffled and two cards are randomly added to each of the Missions. When the Destiny decks run out, the deck of thirty cards is randomly created again.

While on Missions players will not be allowed to post to the Main Thread.

There will be Missions where the team on the Mission have to vote on what to do on the Mission. This will be done secretly in mod chats. Only the result will be posted to the chat.

Missions that are not attempted on one day will increase in difficulty on each subsequent day by one point. If a Mission is not attempted for three consecutive days, it will be deemed a loss and the appropriate consequences will be applied, randomly if they were supposed to affect a specific person.

Missions results will be the final total contributed to the Mission along with a pass/fail statement and consequences if any. All Mission results will be posted to the Team Chats and not to the thread.

MISSION ROLES

On some of the Missions either the Battle General or Intelligence Commander will need to make a decision based on the Mission. These roles are fluid throughout the game, to a point, as at any time there may be multiple players taking on one of the roles based on the Missions. Here is the hierarchy of each role:

MONITOR’S SATELLITE:

Monitor’s Satellite is open to all players who don’t leave for a Mission that day. Monitor’s Satellite has six different options available to the players left there. Players automatically take two Talent cards for staying at the Satellite. When drawing cards, it must be from the Players Talents to the maximum of each Talent. Players must input the order to take the cards they want by 6:15pm each day. Each player may activate one additional option, which is chosen from the following, in the order that they are carried out. For some, an unlimited amount of players may activate the action, for others there will only be one person allowed to activate it. When Free From Jail, Investigate Player, Strategic Planning or Call Trial are activated, all of those players in Monitor’s Satellite must participate in the action, but do not need to use Talent Cards.

Practice Talent: Players may take an additional two Talent cards, following normal draw limits. An unlimited amount of people may activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

Armory: A player may draw two Combat cards. This action ignores normal draw limits. An unlimited amount of people may activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

Strategic Planning: A player may discard Tactics cards equalling a total of four or more Talent points to learn what Talents are needed on a random Mission during the next Mission phase. If more than one player uses this option, they will not receive the same information. Information will be posted publicly. An unlimited amount of people may activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

Investigate Player: Players can try to pass a Talent Check of a difficulty eleven in Tactics and Intelligence to investigate another player. If successful, the player who activated the Investigate Player option will get to investigate any player NOT on Monitor’s Satellite and learn whether they are a Max Evil. A maximum of one player can activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

Free From Jail: Players can try to pass a Talent Check of a difficulty ten in Tactics, Power, and Combat to free a single player from the brig. A maximum of one player can activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

Call Trial: Players can try to pass a Talent Check of a difficulty eight in Combat, Intelligence and Tactics to activate a lynch for the following day. A maximum of one player can activate this action during the Monitor’s Satellite phase.

JAIL

If a player is in jail, they may post to the thread.

They may not take any actions in Monitor’s Satellite or on Missions, except if someone tries to free them from Jail they may draw one card, following normal drawing rules and may contribute exactly one card to the attempt to free them.

LYNCH

Lynch is activated in two ways. First, if a player is killed on a Mission the option to lynch a player and remove them from the game becomes available during the next Meeting stage. Also, players staying on Monitor’s Satellite during the Mission phase can activate Call Trial to activate a lynch the following Planning Cycle. If Call Trial is used, it is in addition to any other lynch and the top two players on the vote tally are lynched.

When a player is lynched, they are sent to the Jail. While in Jail, a player may freely post to the thread, however, they may not vote, attend any Missions or Monitor’s Satellite, nor use any of their powers.

Players may [vote no lynch].

REVEALED EVIL

An Evil Player may choose to reveal as Evil during the Planning Cycle. A revealed Evil may not participate in any Missions and must immediately leave Monitor’s Satellite for the Anti-Monitor’s Secret Base. Each Evil player has a secret power that they can use when they reveal.

Evil players may attempt to sabotage Missions by adding no more than one card into one Mission of their choice each Mission Cycle. If there are multiple revealed Evils, they are limited to one Evil per Mission. Players will be told which Mission the Evil players are on.

Revealed Evils may post to the thread.

Revealed Evils may draw two days per Mission Cycle.

TALENT CARDS

Talent totals: Tactics 23, Flight 28, Power 48, Intellect 24, Combat 28
Talent Cards: In each Talent Card pile there will be the following mix of cards: 40X1 point, 30X2 points, 20X3points, 10X4 points, and 5X5 points.
The maximum amount of Talent Cards a player can hold is ten.

SUPERHEROES

This is a list of the Superheroes available to use in the game. Here you can find their name and their talents.

Tactical Advantage: If Huntress takes the “Strategic Planning” option on Monitor’s Satellite, she only needs to discard cards equal or greater than three, rather than four.

From Within: Each time Jade is required to play any amount of Talent Cards, she must first discard one.

Kal-L (mmesich) – Tactics 1, Flight 1, Power 3

Telepath – Three times per game Martian Manhunter may ask to see someone else’s Talent Cards played during a Mission.
Arsonphobia – If Martian Manhunter ends up on a Mission with Fire involved, he will be unable to play any Talent Cards.

NegativeWoman (saberwolf13) – Flight 2, Power 3
Intangible: Negative Woman cannot be killed on Missions.
Power Surge: There is a 10% chance that the total amount of Talent Cards played by Negative will count for opposite of what she intended them to be.

Saviour: Once per game, the Phantom Stranger may discard either five Power Talent cards or Power Talent cards equal or great to ten Power points to add two points of Life to a Planet.
Restrained: Can only play a maximum of three cards per Mission

Starfire (jmilum) – Flight 2, Power 2, Combat 1
Assimilation: When on Monitor’s Satellite she may draw a Talent Card that anyone who is on Monitor’s Satellite can draw.

The Flash(eddie_drood) – Tactics 2, Power 1, Intellect 1, Combat 1
Martyr: If The Flash is on a Mission that fails, he may sacrifice his life to pass the Mission and gain one point of life for the planet..

Re: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Redux

"Or maybe they do understand. They see their world fraying, fading away before their terrified eyes." The man under the green cowl raises his fists into the air, shaking them as if his movements will stop the inevitable.

"Ten thousand years of civilization stolen without explanations or alternatives." He pulls his cowl back revealing his shocked face. He is unsure whether he should cry out or just cry.

"Oh, they understand all to well! But they run because the fear prayer is not enough!" He cries out for no one to hear. He pauses and looks down on the Earth in front of him. A tear rolls down his cheek.

It is the downtown of a Metropolitan city on this unknown Earth and a lone figure stands transfixed above the chaos that has erupted below. Man, woman and child alike run from their impending doom in the wave of whiteness that seems to be swallowing up the world around them.

"While I cannot run from this plague which swallows Earth after Earth..." He flies towards the massive wall of nothingness. "No, I am drawn to it. Forced to observe the death rattle of the multiverse."

He lands feet from the edge of the plague where a small child holds onto a lamppost in the street. The man moves toward the child and reaches out to the small boy.

"How much longer must I suffer for my sins..." He grabs the boys arm. The boy looks into his eyes, filled with hope where only fright and confusion was before. "...before I may be spared the witnessing of these horrors?"

The grip breaks and the child is sucked through into the nothingness.

"Let me die along with -- NO!" He tries to follow the boy to the other side. "I'm disappearing again. Another Earth is to be swallowed by the dark."

"And I..." he blinks out of existance leaving just a voice. "...I must attend as I have the hundreds which have died before it."

------------------------------

In deep space at an unknown location, at an unknown time a man watches and waits. He watches many monitors buzzing with activity on the screen. He knows what is happening as he has set much of it into motion.

On one monitor he sees a tall blond woman confront a man in a cape and a cowl. After a brief discussion, he reaches out to her, she takes his hand and they are gone.

On another, she is on the planet OA speaking to the Green Lantern Corps. On yet another she is speaking to a Superman. Then she is with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Negative Woman, Wonder Girl, Huntress, Captain Marvel and countless others. She is gathering an army. An army of Superheroes. Some have super powers, while others have set aside fear to aid their fellow humans without the aid of super strength, flight or invulnerability.

And yet, here they had been summoned, all sixteen of them to meet a man trying to save the multiverse, a man who called himself...

Re: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Redux
"I am the Monitor." the man unknown to all started. "And I have summoned you because your universes are about to die. Already one thousand universes have already perished. There are only a handful of worlds left. Now, the anti-matter force once more shatters the dimensional barriers... expanding outward, engulfinh one universe and then another. Destroying all life... and hope. First, your world's will feel natures wrath as your planets cry out in agony..."

He paused, looking down at the meagre army he had brought to him. He had wanted more. He had wanted others. Some were already dead. Others unreachable in the timeframe he had.

"World's in upheaveal... Earthquakes, volcanic disturbances, floods, which will crush your coast line cities like so many beneath your feet."

A few cries of shock and disbelief rose up from the summoned heroes, but The Monitor paid them no heed.

"I have come here to SAVE your worlds, not to fight you and not to watch them die. Please, I am tired and I need your help." He gathers his thoughts after sitting down. His rubs his forehead and sighs. "There is a planet. I know it is going to die. We can do nothing to stop it from happening, but I need some of you to travel to it, to gather important information about what is happening there. I need another team to travel to Earth 3, where the Crime Syndicate are fighting for their planets life. They may wish to join us in our galactic fight. You may be able to save just a few lives if you go. Finally, on Earth-K there is an element I need for devices I'm working on. A team needs to retrieve that element at any cost. Please, go. Please help save yourselves and the multiverse.

I'm here with a renewed sense of vitality!

I'm glad we started over just so you are back! kiss

[Wonder Girl]
Thanks! I'm glad to be back.

[Green Lantern]

Yeah sorry about that Wonder Girl, really, but you see that was on Earth-False Start, and that Earth got destroyed by the Crisis, so it really didn't happen...yeah or something like that.

In any case I'm good this time around happily, and looking to go on a mission.

Unless all three unaware mission generals have spontaneously died, we should be getting requirements.
