Looks like he made casts of them with Instant Mold (or something similar), filled the casts with green stuff to make green copies of the Jeeps, and then added some guns and containers on the Jeeps with more green stuff.

Bingo.

Then cleaned up the casts, scuplted details and painted.

Very cool! What ingredients are used for the mold, how is it separated once set, and where do you get the right plastic that can be heated and liquified?

I used Instant Mold from Cool-Mini-or-Not along with some Green Stuff.

Heat a bowl of water to almost boiling
Drop the Instant Mold in, wait for it to turn clear
Carefully encase the object to be copied
Drop it into a bowl of COLD water
Wait 5mins or so

NOTE: I have not needed to use a release agent. Instant Mold has yet to stick to the metal or plastic objects I have cast to this point

The mold is flexible enough to push out the object if you left space.
You can also make a two piece mold in a couple different ways.
(Watch the video on CoolMiniorNot)
Depending on what you've molded, and how, will determine how to extract the master.
Remember the silicone mold does have some give/flex but you do have to watch for under cuts in your original piece.

Mix half and half blue and yellow from the Green Stuff
Push it into the mold making sure to let air bubbles out
Let the mold sit for a few hours, I let mine sit over night

De-mold and trim/clean up the cast.

Instant mold is really easy to work with but it does take some practice.
If you are looking to make only a few casts it is much cheaper than going the full casting route of making RTV molds and resin casts .
