Can someone please point me to the rules on Targeting.

I assume that each individual firing ship can target any enemy ship (Irrelevant what class is on the other side)?

So you don't have to target like classes first etc?

Do you target Group counters, individual ships or classes?

Thanks

Hans

You mostly have it, when it is time for a given ship to fire, it may target any ship on the opposing side so long as it is not screened.

You can keep targeting damaged ships like this, you don't have to pick an entire class or group of ships when targeting, you may pick the individual ship. This can be important if you have Raiders and the enemy has one DD with Scanner tech, for example.

Yes (but not screened ships or carriers if there are fighters)
No
Individual ships, but since they are grouped in identical stacks it only matters if one has damage.

If you are using the Battleboard by MajorOracle(which I highly recommend) you can simply set out each ship group marker in the proper column (A-E) with its numeral marker next to it, say Cruiser 2 with numeral marker 4.

Cruiser group 2 takes 1 hit in the first round so he puts a damage 1 marker on it. In the next round you do another hit so he removes the damage 1 marker and changes the numeral marker from 4 to 3.
