She isn't going to be able to maintain much effort, even sitting up, for several weeks. Any recommendations for games that are fairly quick to play? I searched for threads but seemed to only get children's games as results.

They would enjoy just about an genre. In the past we've played Pit (the trading game not sure of the exact title) and RISK.

Thanks for any input.

Hive plays anywhere, and quickly.

Here's a game in progress, 6 hours after spinal fusion surgery, right on the bed.

The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet.

Were you looking primarily for 2 player games?

If so, Lost Cities would be good. Depending on space available, Summoner Wars might be an option.

If you like abstracts, YINSH (or any of the project GIPF games) could work.

We will keep her in our prayers.

I just picked up Famiglia and if she's looking for a game she can play solo, there's Friday.

Coloretto doesn't take up much room and can play pretty quickly, especially with just 2 players. As already mentioned, Hive is also a great game. How about some simple dice rollers like Zombie Dice and Martian Dice?

I like Times Square for this by Reiner Knizia. It plays really quickly. You can easily do a game in 10 or less minutes and it's not overly complicated incase she's not a huge gamer.

Hive is a certain buy. I think I'll order Carbon. Might just have to order a copy for our house as well.

Also considering 7Wonders.

Thanks again for all the advice.

Ended up ordering Pandemic and Hive Carbon. She should be getting them on Monday so she will get a few plays before surgery.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!
