Hi All,

As some of you will be aware Games Expo is holding the first 7 Wonders tournament in the UK in May. This forms part of the Grand Boardgame tournament.

However, we need a scoring mechanism for the tournament itself. The simplest method to be used, would be a portion of total points scored - similar to a Puerto Rico tournament. Do you think people would prefer a simpler method like this, or a more complicated one involving the scores in each area (ie military, science, wonders).

Alternatively, has anyone got a superb idea / one we can borrow from an existing tournament?

Many Thanks for any advice & comments.

BR

We got 170 players at the inaugural tournament at WBC. Here were the results: http://www.boardgamers.org/yearbook/7WSpge.htm The GM was Kathy Stroh. You can find her contact details on the preview page at http://www.boardgamers.org/yearbkex/7wspge.htm

You could also check with BPA's EuroQuest GM. The game master was Michelle Hymowitz. You can find her contact info at http://www.gamesclubofmd.org/contact.asp There were 80 players for the 7 Wonders tournament. Select 7 Wonders under the Tournaments menu at the top of http://euroquest.gamesclubofmd.org/EQ_T14.aspx to see a write-up of the tournament.
