I am Canadian and as any Canadian knows shipping and customs from the good old US and A can be nasty. So how has the experience been for my fellow countrymen? I am planning on buy at least two games from GMT. Is this a good idea or should I wait?

A lot of my gaming purchases were online, mostly from UK and US. I preorder several games on P500 every year and I hardly ever need to pay custom duty. I think last year I had to pay duty maybe once or twice (for the whole year), out of an average of 3 or 4 trips to the post office per month. I think for a one or two game purchase you should be fine.

Their shipping rates have always been reasonable IMO.

So are those flat shipping rates?

And is it better to go big order or small order to avoid customs?

thanks again!

Don't know about Canuckistan, but for shipments to e.g. Germany there's a minimum value, below which packets just go through customs. Small orders are obviously good, then.

Another factor is how likely you think it is your packet will be intercepted and held hostage by customs. If it's close to 100% you might as well order one big chunk o'games and save yourself multiple trips to the customs office. If it's, say, 25% you'd be better off buying each game individually and then only pay customs on every fourth game.

Getting games through customs: a game in itself
