How do you organize the cards in your hand?

I hold my cards fanned in my left hand, in groups from left to right: Allies, then Attachments, and then Events. Within each group, cards are sorted in descending order by cost (again left to right), regardless of sphere.

How do organize your hand? Just curious...

Just by cost, lowest to highest.

By sphere.

Since i am playing with 2 (or even 3) spheres i want to know what cards i have so i can play them and not make any mistakes.

Also it doesn't matter what kind of card is since i can play allies and attachment only at planning phase. So during planning phase i only look at these and during the whole round i only look at the events.

Sort by cost is wrong for me because a card that costs let's say 3 is different if you have 2 out of the three heroes of that sphere OR just one.
So a 3 cost card will take me 3 turns to play it if i only have one Hero or 2 turns if i have 2 Heroes.

I sort them by the order I drew them into my hand *

But honestly, I don't think I sort my hands, other than probably moving duplicate cards together

I'll sometimes sort by sphere but honestly, most of the time I don't sort my hands at all.

I do this exact same thing. Allies, then Attachments, then Events.

The order in which they are drawn is the order of them in my hand.

Spectral order, based on the dominant color of the artwork.

(ok, not really... I haven't settled on a favorite order yet).

Usually allies first, in increasing cost order; then attachments; then events, in decreasing cost order.

Blimey, you're all a bit more organised than me. I don't really organise them at all but don't usually need to. Until I played with Bilbo for the first time and ended up with hundreds in my hand blush

I put aside all cards I can't play at all because like for example I haven't got the necessary song out yet. Then I organize my hand, then I draw Dol Guldur ...

(left to right in brackets) I do cost (1,2,3,4,5,X) within sphere (neutral rightmost, then the one with most heroes), within type (event, attachments, allies).

Turns out Gandalf is the rightmost card (when in hand), and the leftmost is some crummy cost 1 event that I probably don't need.

That's funny-- Gandalf is leftmost in my hand, and the crummy 1-cost event is rightmost.

I'm right handed. Are you left handed?

With your fanning technique, do you expose all of Gandalf, or all of the crummy one? I see all of Gandalf.

I see all of the crummy one. I see the shields/boxes/scrolls with the cost of all the cards (and the sphere color). But when Gandalf is in my hand, I never forget he's there...

I think its interesting to see how different folks organize their thoughts & their game. I don't know why I organize in descending order by cost; when I play Uno I organize the same way (descending by value, then color).

AH, right, well, er, to each his pown, I guess. At least there is no 'right' answer and no wrong answer.

Yes, just 'right' and 'left' answers!

And to clarify my earlier post, I don't willingly play UNO often; sometimes I am dragged in to it by the very old or the very young... surprise
