Okay, we're assuming there are three other people who will be marooned on the island with you. Which 3 games would you take with you and why?

*You can assume durability/loss of pieces doesn't come into play and that the island is large enough to accomodate Arkham Horror and all its expansions plus a dice tower fashioned from coconuts.

*This is a variation on Desert Island Discs which allowed people 8 albums to take with them but as we're talking about games, let's also assume the island has an ideal gaming space so no worries about wind and meeple-thieving monkies.

With three other players. Decissions decissions

Dominion with all the expansions (assuming the monkeys also don't steal cards this gives us a lot of variation on one game)

Runebound with Expansions as we'll probably actually have time to play a full game.

Twilight Imperium 3rd edition. One we can play it two when all else fails the box will make a nice raft

The Road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet.

Arkham Horror it is then
With all the expansions it has almost endless variation. It will take up a good part of the day too. The main reason for picking all 3 games is because I find them fun to play.

+ War of The Ring Collectors Edition
Hard to find people to play this on a regular basis and again takes up a great chunk of time that few are willing to commit to with normal distractions like work and other aspects of life. I like the fact that the box and minatures are durable on this island, so I won't have to worry about this expensive item getting damaged. I assume coconut milk spillages won't be a problem at the table.

and Star Wars CCG
There should be plenty of time to learn all the rules and construct lots of balanced thematic decks, which there isn't during normal life.

I could probably now pick the 3 other people to be stranded with, based on the games I didn't have room to include in my selection.

I would take Summoner Wars, even if I couldn't take all of my 14 factions, the master set would still almost be enough provided we had two boards for 4 player games.

Besides that... I haven't played Earth Reborn but a desert island seems like the perfect setting to really delve into that complex set of rules... and, let's see, I think I'd go for another game I haven't played - Defenders of the Realm. They tell me that the quality is Ghost Stories level but I probably wouldn't take that at this point becuase I have already played it SO MUCH over the years... then again, maybe I'd take it after all, tough call...

Haven't really thought about this much, but seeing as I won't be near a desert island for a while I can always pack later:

Agricola
Tigris & Euphrates
Race For The Galaxy (should be able to pass some time explaining the icons)

Very easy to answer is that!

Tantrix;
Dixit;
Tales of the arabian Nights.

All provide totally different games every play, are enjoyable and funny and don't get "old".

Arkham Horror with all expansions
The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game for a co-op with all expansions
The Spoils with 8 of every card! 2 player goodness.

Now while 2 people are playing The Spoils the other 2 can be working on collecting black and wwhite stones, and carving the perfect piece of wood for our Go set.
