Since both scenarios refer to left and right flank of the same battle, could these be played as an (geographically) epic game? I think I'd use the Battlelore epic rules with the common cards.
Suggestions and comments welcome

Yes, Brady and I have done just that--combined the left and the right at this year's BGG con. You can see a few pics.
We used two CCA boards and Brady had a deck of cards marked similarly to the CCA Epic deck.

We had to take a little bit of fudging to get the units to align properly but it worked very well.

We've played Salamanca as an Epic by slamming Left and Right together and it was very satisfying. Using two sets and a single card deck, we did the following mods:

• Used C&C Ancients boards.
• Played to 12 banners. British 10 cards, French 8 cards.
• Squares were capped to a minimum of 4 cards in hand.
• Played similar to C&C: Ancients Epic rules:

1. Play 1-3 section cards OR one Army card.
2. Each section may get only a section card.
3. If a section card orders units in different
sections, then the card counts as 2 (Flank Attack)
or 3 played cards (Coordinated Attack).
4. Draw two cards at end of turn (observe hand limit).
5. If you play at least one Scout card, you may draw
3 cards and keep 2 (observe hand limit).
6. Inspired Field General Play: Two exact same section cards of Scout, Probe and
Attack can be played. They count as 2 played cards, and a card may be played in another section.
7. If section cards are played, sections that get no card, are allowed to make an initiative roll. If an Army card is played, initiative rolls are not allowed.

Modified Tactic Cards:
First Strike: FS Player battles with +1 dice
Assault: up to 6 units in section
Force March: up to 6 units in section

Very tight game -- French won 12-9 with the biggest difference being two British leaders lost by Leader Casualty Checks. French lost two units because of an inability to go into square due to hand size. (We're considering dropping the minimum hand requirement down to either two or three.)

Thanks for the rapid and lucid responses and links
Do any of you have opinions of the difference betwixt the CC:Ancients and CC:Memoir Epic rules, which feature sectional markings
and CC:Battlelore - which adds a common deck of 3 cards, but wherein the cards are not sectionally marked?

Richard Borg and I have been discussing running a multi-player version of Salamanca at this year's Celesticon convention in the San Francisco area over Labor Day. Richard has mentioned a "La Grande Battles" system for Napoleonics, which I assume is like Epic Ancients. I don't know any specific details about system--I think Richard will be showing up with a special card deck.

Kent, would love it if you could post your thoughts on that battle and the deck Mr. Borg brings!
