Hi Guys - been looking through the postings.

Has there been a confirmation from Alan Moon as to whether one can score the 4 country and country tickets if one happens to draw the following: tickers tickets?
Germany to Italy ( 2 tickets)
Italy to Germany (2 tickets)

The rule does not prevent one from scoring and there are many variants out there - Just wonderin if mr Moon had addressed this?

Keep drawing cards... get lucky enough and get 'em both. Just part of the Switzerland map.

I don't think this has ever been officially addressed, and I don't think it has to be. With your example above, you're lucky and you get to score 52 points.

We discussed it among our play group and decided 2 things.
1. Play in a way your group agrees with.
2. We decided to play that if you get a duplicate destination ticket, the second connected destination must be different from the first.

I've played both in tournaments and online where all tickets with the same countries were scored identically.

It's just a really good draw, consider yourself lucky when that happens.

This is the entire section from the official rules (PDF) that discusses country-to-country tickets.

Quote:
12 Destination Tickets connect either city-to-country or country-to country. To complete a city-to-country ticket you must connect from the
city name on the ticket to one of the countries listed on the ticket. To
complete a country-to-country ticket you must connect from the primary
country on the ticket to one of the other countries listed. The points
earned at game's end are those of the highest scoring connection
completed from among the possible country destinations marked on the
ticket. If none of the possible connections was made, the points lost are
those corresponding to the lowest value on the ticket.

Nothing about no repeats is mentioned there.
