I'm looking for some good filler games for my games club which at least 4 or 5 players can play and that take less than an hour. Ideally they should be quite easy to learn/teach. We've played Coloretto, Bohnanza and 7 Wonders, what else should we consider?

You have Citadels listed as owned- that's got to be worth a try.

Also see if a Works near you still has a copy of Maori

We've found both of those easy to teach & play in 30-45 minutes depending on the number of players

7 Wonders is considered a "filler" or "warm up" game at most clubs in my area. I've played 7 Wonders while waiting for more gamers to arrive for serious long games.

Back when Dominion was insanely popular, people would sit for 6-12 hours at the game club playing one after another. We had a group at GASP play Dominion continuously for 12 hours and 22 minutes one Saturday. But now, I think it could be a filler game at most board game clubs.

Well to me a filler game should take around half an hour (unless it's just a super fast and light card filler game), so I agree with most of the other suggested games, though Carcassonne with 5 players is bad! With 2-3 it's awesome, but I don't think it's any good with 5 players and it might take more than an hour.

No Thanks, High Society etc. are all good, very quick filler games.

I am going to suggest the following games which aren't just easy card games that can be played in 10-15 minutes, but are actually some games I find rather "meaty" for the time they take to play (most ~30 minutes):

China is a light area majority game which takes around 30 minutes to play. I really feel I get a good board gaming experience in this half hour! Okay, perhaps it's best with 3-4 players as 5 can be a bit too chaotic (but YMMV), but it's a quick game which packs a punch!

Code 777 takes less than an hour to play, probably 45 minutes with 5. It's a pure deduction game so some might hate it, but personally I like it for what it is, and I think it's quite fast.

If you like co-operative games, Forbidden Island plays in around half an hour, though it only plays 4 players (Pandemic with expansion plays 5 but that game takes around an hour).

Also, if you like to add a dexterity game in which people always seem to end up laughing, you might want to take a look at Jungle Speed. The base game is pretty good with 4 and 5 in my opinion and there is great tension in this game!

Finally, Ra is one of the best pure auction games out there and my games never seem to take more than an hour, but 5 players might go over. It's one of my favorite games, and if your criteria is a game which must take an hour to play, I definitely recommend it as I have never had a game take more than an hour with 2, 3 and 4 players (it scales well).

I'd like to add Node to the list. Simple, cheap card game and great fun with any number up to 5 players. What about King of Tokyo? That supports you group numbers too and is a fun game.

Checking our club reports for the last few months I can offer a list of the games played at the start or end of the evenings:

+1 for Pickomino
Infinite City
Nefarious
Friday the 13th
Bohnanza

All of these tend to be played quite regularly, and work well, as fillers.

In its current (underdeveloped) state, Eminent Domain is a filler game. We played it last weekend, at the end of the evening after finishing a game of Queen's Shogun. It was a good way to get one more game in before everyone was tired and went home.

Most games of Race for the Galaxy take less than an hour as well. Though I don't think of RFTG as a "light" or "filler" game, it does fit the OP's criteria of plays in an hour or less and accomodates 4-5 players.

+1 for Tsuro.

A lot of good recommendations have been made but Tsuro is the filler I'd most highly recommend. It's a fun mix of strategy & luck, plays well with 2-8 players, and takes 20 minutes regardless of how many players you have.

What about games that are not fillers, but still can be played under an hour (proven and tested of course)?

- +1 7 Wonders (thanks to the drafting mechanic, 7 players = 45 mins)
- Rattus (4 players=45 mins)
- Peloponnes (5 players=60 mins)(the rulebook says 15 mins per player)
- The Speicherstadt (5 players=55 mins)
- seconded the Eminent Domain suggestion, but my 4 players game always ends around 60-70 mins no matter how we pushed. It's a FUN game.
- Mondo (play for 3 rounds, each round is 7 mins; timer included)

Some fillers:
- Archaeology: The Card Game
- Tichu (4 players, play up to 500 points, 40 mins)
- Blokus
- Felicity: The Cat in the Sack (5 players=40 mins)(easily our fav auction game)(best with 4/5players)(designed by Friedemann Friese)
- Get Bit! (underrated game)(I can't stressed how fun this game is)
- Monopoly Deal Card Game
- R-Eco
- Circus Flohcati
- 6 nimmt!

I'm not sure, but I think could easily be pulled in under 60 mins:
- Railways of the World: The Card Game
- Ticket to Ride: Europe
- Carcassonne

Let us know what you're getting at the end yeah.

my favourite filler games are SET and Ghost Blitz. They are easy to learn and fast to play, perfect to warm up or between two longer games

Edit: And not to forget, Nicht die Bohne!, which is a funny auction/antiauction game which got cult status in my dormitory.
