So, this is a session from several weeks back. It won't be as detailed as a lot of mine, because I'm going mostly off of memory for it. Six play Base game with the Official No-Sympathizer variant.

Players are:
Zarek (me)
Helo (Michael Dos)
Apollo (Scot)
President Baltar (Jim)
Starbuck (Michael)
Admiral Tigh (Mai-Li)

Mai-Li, Michael, and I are experienced BSG players; Scot, Jim, and Michael Dos are all playing for the first time. Additionally, they are some of the most suspicious acting people I have played The Resistance or Werewolf with, so I figured it'd be fun.

Things start out relatively normally. I'm explaining the game to the three new players, and giving tips on how to effectively play their characters. Baltar is especially flustered, being given the President title on his first game. He fumbles with the President's Office, not really knowing what he should be doing with the Quorum.

As we expected, the three new players all seemed to be doing suspicious things. Baltar got an early opportunity to look at a loyalty card, and before I could suggest that we'd like to know if we can trust our Admiral, he chose to look at Apollo's, claiming Apollo to be Human. It didn't really soothe our suspicions.

The game progressed, and we were in bad shape from lack of communication and overcommitting to skill checks. Our Morale was dipping low, and I kept giving XOs to the President from the Press Room, hoping he would give a speech or two. Despite having quite a large Quorum hand, he claimed he had nothing useful. When pressed to actually *do* something, he played Accept Prophecy.

Sleeper phase occurred, and we knew there were Cylons among us. I let Baltar know that his OPG would be good at this point, so he used it to look at Helo's loyalty cards. He glanced for a second and immediately gave them back, saying "He's clean."

Later, on another President's Office activation, and after more requests that he help in some way, he assigned a Vice President, and gave it to Starbuck.

"Wait a minute," I said. "You know for a fact that Helo is a Human. Why would you make Starbuck the Vice President?"

Baltar just shrugged and so Tigh reminded me that it is his first time playing, and that the Quorum deck is confusing and that Baltar doesn't know what's going on. I let it go, until my turn came around.

Once it was my turn, I decided that I wanted to know what the Quorum actually held. I presented two options: I would either activate Administration myself and move the Presidency to Starbuck, or I would give an XO to Tigh so he could Declare Martial Law. Since Tigh's turn came just before mine, I figured it wouldn't be too risky. I chose that, in order to save the cards we'd spend on a skill check.

"For my first action, I will Declare Martial Law... I get your title, and the Quorum deck, and your Quorum Cards," explained Tigh.
"Aw, you get ALL of these?" groaned Baltar.
"Hmmm, very interesting. And for my second action, I will play an Arrest Order, on YOU, Tom Zarek!"
Baltar high fived Tigh.

So we moved the Presidency from one Cylon to another, and I ended up in the Brig. Things were pretty dire, but after the Cylons both officially revealed, I got the Presidency and saw a bounty of great cards.

After playing a few Inspirational Speeches and Food Rationings, along with Assigning a Mission Specialist and Authorizing Brutal Force, it looked like we might actually survive.

In the end, the Cylons won, and I don't even remember how, because all I remember of this session was handing the XO over to the one person I trusted the most, only to have her pay me back by throwing me in the Brig.

It doesn't sound like baltar needed to soft reveal the with the high five. If he played it cool he could have regained the presidency when tigh revealed.

OUCH!

you should have flushed Baltar out of the Airlock. you have to trust your gut in this game. If you don't and wait too long you get hammered for it. Even if you flush someone out of the airlock you only lose 1 morale which is far less damaging than what you experienced!!! As a fan of the first three seasons of BSG I just flush the Baltar character out the airlock whenever possible lol

As Zarek, I'm usually a fan of taking the Presidency from Baltar, but nobody thought it was a good idea this time. I totally should have done it...

Chalk this up to him being a new player. He actually hard-revealed before Tigh did, because when Tigh revealed, he pass both titles away.
