The topic says it all: What is the max. battle hand size of a city? (or a capital?)

Rulebook says (p.23) "Player's battle hand size starts at three and may be increased in the following ways:

1) +2 hand size for each friendly army figure in the square beyond the first.
-> Because in your own city you can't have any figure's, no help from an army. -> +0 from there
2) +1 hand size if governed by Fundamentalism
-> +1 from there
3) +3 hand size if defending a city or capital.
-> +3 from there

So is the max. battle hand size 4 or 7? (or something else?)

Computers provides a hand size of +1 for every 5 coins you possess, so that's +2 (+3 in rare cases).

So the max hand size for defending a capital or city probably won't go above 10 unless something very strange happened in a turn. It doesn't seem likely, however, that an economic player would be in fundamentalism.

But is the default battle size of a city 3 or 6? :) (without any bonuses)

The best part of the pyramids (FaF wonder) is the flexibility it gives you. If you already know that you will get to 15 coins without the need of the government coin, you can go feudal and protect your victory.

Sometimes units isn't the thing that saves you.

With 2 iron and the right techs you can deal 9 damage without using any units.

work on a defensive bonus and then just iron your enemy!

Can you use two iron resource tech cards during one turn? First before and the second after placing an unit? (at the same "combat turn")?

Hi, just new to the game. Isn't the standard hand size even for cities and capitals just 3? Without the +3 bonus from defending said city or capital?

There is no way a city/capital can fight unless it is defending. Unit cards are not assigned to specific cities/armies they are maintained in a pool and drawn randomly when needed.
