So I was toying with a game where everybody operates in lover-mason pairs (share a chat and die together), the rub is, only one of the pair plays in the thread at a time.

26 players split among 13 roles, and each day the pair rotates who can post in thread.

Below are some role set options I've been looking at and I'd love to get some ideas. What do people like, not like, think wouldn't work, etc?

Is it better to start basic and see how it works, or go a little more exciting?

Option 1:
2 Wolves
Sorcerer
Cultist
Seer
Aux Seer
Martyr
Parity Hunter (no brutal)
5 Villagers

Option 2:

Same as above, but Brutal Hunter/Wolf

Option 3:
3 wolves with no shared chat (explain below)
Seer
Non-Repeating Bodyguard (can't block same consecutive)
Telepath (explain below)
2-Parity Hunter (2-2 parity game continues, 1-1 wins)
5 Villagers

Wolves get 4 messages per day that transmit to all other wolves, last NK in before dawn is used
Telepath can open chat Dawn-Dawn with another player (pair aliased as Left Brain and Right Brain in chat)
OR Alternate role - intercepts one random message at dawn
OR instead of telepath something else less powerful

Option 4:

3 wolves, one brutal, one tough, one power blocking (hitting either of a pair blocks the action)
1 Sorcerer

2 Mason Seers – 4 people in a chat, get one view per night, 2 are Seers (can be blocked), 2 are Masons
Tough Hunter
Brutal Hunter
5 Villagers – Tough, Day Priest, Night Priest, White Hat, Boring Villager

Option 5:
2 Wolves
Sorcerer
Minion (Brutal if lynched)
Seer
Aux Seer
Hunter (Brutal if NKed)
Martyr
5 Villagers

Thoughts? Questions? All are appreciated!

This sounds really intriguing. I would start basic since you're adding in a rotating pair thing. Something like this has been done before but not with the rotating. I can't remember the game but it might have been a Valentine's day one?

I played in it as the behind-the-scenes vet working with a newbie as Sorcerer. It was a lot of fun.

Also, you do NOT know the pairs ahead of time.

I'll check out that game, thanks Greek!

You don't know your own pair (anon chat)? Or do you know only who your partner is?
Presumably only the active player votes, but can they vote for an inactive player?

The partners know each other, but the thread doesn't know what the partner groups are. It would essentially be split into two 13ers that rotate, so you'd know half of the players have to be with the other half, but can only vote on the active ones for your day.
