Anyone here have preparations for a disaster scenario?

What items do you consider necessities for your bug-out-bags?

Knowing where the trap is - that's the first step in evading it.

Well, let's see. I would include in my survival kit:

-100 feet of rope
-multi-tool
-fire piston
-small mirror
-knife with serrated and sharp edges
-roll of twine
-small first aid kit
-hatchet/machete
-tarp
-collapsable bowl
-water bottle (one of the ones that is flat and takes up little room)
-gloves
-tools (monkey wrench, maul and a couple screwdrivers)
-flashlight that doesn't need batteries
-whistle
-hat
-scarf

For survival against external threats (zombies, animals, etc.):

-a crossbow with bolts
-an ASP baton
-handcuffs
-a Sig Sauer with ammunition

Sounds about right.

It's an extendable baton, mainly used in policing. I have one already, and I would certainly prefer it to a baseball bat. When it's collapsed, it's about 10" in length. When extended, it's anywhere from 18-23".

I should probably learn how to shoot a gun by then. Being that I'm from Texas people will expect me to protect them.

You know, you can use the bottom of a teacup [or mug] for that.
I think no survival kit is complete without the last-ditch suicide supplies, AKA pop-rocks and coke [or mentos and diet coke for the younger set]
