Habanero burritos?

Hopefully.

Just be damn careful. We have some going too. The heat is worth the pain.

Don't I know it. There are still some in the freezer from last year.

Looked bad - tossed them

You forgot the "never put your fingers near your eyes" rule also. It's probably something like rule 2½.

Habanero burritos?

We have Habeneros with our burritos all the time. We usually average about half a hab per burrito. Then we add some extra habenero sauce on top.

They grow a variety of this locally to me, the Dorset Naga. In 2006, one sample was rated at 1,598,227 SHU. Basically, even just looking at it is enough to set your eyes on fire.

There is a reference to it in the Chillies section at the Eden Project.

Not visible in this photo is the fact that the Naga chilli plants are behind a fence to stop anyone touching (or maybe picking?) them.

Next time, get a small box of vinyl gloves at the pharmacy and wear them while you're handling the peppers. Don't touch anything put peppers and the knife with the gloves on! Trash them when you're done.

I thought that the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T had overtaken the Naga as the hottest pepper? Or did the Naga wrest the title back?

Just Enjoy the burn, Orangemoose. It is good for you.

Also, food processors are your friend. You just de-stem them a boom, no touchy touchy.

If you are ever in Hawaii I will make you my slightly hot salsa:

That batch had 16 Habaneros for a less than a pint. I am now making it with 25 (red ones, when I can fond them), and a few Serranos for flavor.

So I played Eclipse for the first time this weekend and made up an idiom to describe my end game military strategy. I called it going in "balls on fire." It seems as though you have added a much more literal definition... devil

Which was used to make the 'killer curry' for an Edinburgh restaurant competition that ended up hospitalising some of the contestants gulp

Quote:

The restaurant's website states that contestants must sign a legal disclaimer before taking part in the competition, which raised £1,500 for the Children's Hospice Association of Scotland (Chas). It also advises diners to put a toilet roll in the freezer when they get home.

Ali said the contestants suffered severe stomach pains after eating the Kismot Killer in the final round.

He said: "Unfortunately they were in pain and didn't want to move. They vomited a couple of times. About three or four vomited in the toilets and some went outisde for fresh air.

Second date with my wife - we went to her friends house for dinner. First course was french onion soup, which was very good but also causes flatulence in some people.

We had to drive home with the car windows down in the winter.
