Welcome to Civilization PBF game #32!

This will be a Fame and Fortune beginner's game with four players. The following introduction has been adapted from Peristarkawan, who also graciously provided me with the required files:

d10-1The game will utilize the alternative tiebreaker variant and several additional variants which are detailed below.

d10-2Orders, notifications and all other correspondence will be done via email. Therefore, I will need your email address when the game begins.

d10-3Play will be simultaneous on the first two turns.

d10-4Please plan to check in at least once a day. If you're going away and can't check in for a few days, please let me know ahead of time.

d10-5In deference to FFG, I will not be posting card text from the game.

d10-6In the interest of saving time, please make good use of mailing me Conditional Orders.

d10-7All table talk should be done in the thread.

List of variants
Quote:

1) In case of a tie, Great Person steps on the Culture track will not be counted as points (therefore, a full Culture track will award you 17 points).
2) Endowment for the Arts costs 2/4/5
3) Arabs generate 1 Culture for each resource spent
4) Metalcasting does not have a Coin; Railroad does have a Coin
5) School of Confucius gives one Great Person
6) Markets give +1 Trade

The following players have been invited. Please reply with Civ and color preference.

1ahmedhadzi (#3: Random, Random)
2mvalenta (#2: Random, Random)
3linguistfromhell (#1: Purple, Spain)
4stratejoe (rejected)
5Colt: Alternative #1 (#4: Random, Random)

Well, this is literally my first PBF Civ game (never mind my first Civ game in two months). I'll appreciate any suggestions or comments from folks.

How about Purple, and Spain?

And it's my first time having a Purple player My usual tactic is "don't die". Though I'm failing it in the PBF I'm playing o_O

Cool! I'm in. I'll go random on the Civ and have no preference for colour so I'll take whatever is left.

Ooh, that's a bad sign if you're a good enough player to play whatever. LOL. Don't kick my butt too badly, please!

Don't worry. I've played one 4 player game and lost badly. The truth is that I have no strong preference because I don't know which ones are better than others.

Random is the most fun way to do it, in my opinion

No, it's not your first player.
I wanted to be purple in #28 but you gave me yellow.
I thought you don't want to change those colors.
But I have an explanation when I loose

Hi there,

if no-one subjects, I'd be joining the game. Give me any Civ and any Color. I'm in a European Time Zone and its deep in the night right now, so I'll be not around for the next few hours ^^;

Regards,

Colt

Greetings All from Peaceful India.

We are a nation of love and joy looking for mutual coexistence in this violent world.

P.S.

How come Arabia has 2 Artillery? And I have only 1 Horseman, even after I built one. I think that might be a typo.

And in all fairness, you should probably add my +2 combat modifier. Heh.

Not that I'm complaining or anything!

The Artillery number indicates the level of that type of unit. We Arabs have a deep grasp of Mathematics which gives us mighty catapults to throw at your puny archers. The units entry on the far left of the sheet indicates the number of units each Civ has and you indeed have 4 military units compared to the rest of us who have 3. I guess the biggest military helps bring "love and joy"

As mvalenta stated, the numbers are the unit's rank (tech level), not the count. I only give you the total number of units in each player's standing forces. Beyond that, it's up to you to count (in other words, I am not providing hidden information that is unavailable in a regular game).
