This was asked on another thread but I put here to avoid highjacking the thread.

I heard there were problems with the new edition boards. How common and how bad is the problem? I am about to place an order for it but I am not keen on buying the game and afterwards going after a new board.

If you don't mind to assembly the dials every time you want to play, to avoid tear up the board and you have the patience to wait 2 or more months to get the replacement board then go get it!!!

I got the reprint edition! the update artwork is better than the original!!!

Thanks for the answer, I understood the problem. It is not a deal breaker because I will be able to play while waiting for the new board so I am not happy but I am ok with it.
FFG should try to implement some sort of quality control in their production line, you know testing the components before mass producing them.

Are the pins sturdy enough to withstand assembly and disassembly?

The dials really aren't even necessary in this game. In fact, they hide what should really be open information. Just place a counter or a penny on the circles to show where you are on the track while you wait for your replacement and you'll be fine. Pulling those pins out can be a real pain once they've been assembled.

Thanks for the pics. I was hoping the cards backs of the new edition would 100% match the card backs of the Horned Rat expansion as I've been dabbling in mixing the decks between the base game and the expansion. Yes, yes, I know I'm not 'supposed to' but it's not like the balance in the expansion is as well done as the base game and I'd like to use some of the new powers.

Hello!

quick question

does the new edition still comes with mini size cards for Chaos Powers decks?

If they changed it to regular size, this new edition becomes a must buy for me

I don't think that would be a good idea! The board does get overcrowded with tokens and minis as it is, having bigger cards... naaaaw! It's just perfect as it is!

I don't have this new reprint edition but I have no issues with my board being damaged? I don't disassemble my board or my dials or anything. I just pack it neartly back in the box and away it goes. Just be careful with your games and you'll be fine.

If I understood correctly the dials of the 2nd edition (or just a batch of that edition) are facing inside when you fold the board, if that is the case no matter how careful you are it will ruin your board if you don't disassemble the dials. I hope my copy comes with a perfect board as I like to keep my games in as good shape as possible.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if the misprint in the boards is punctual or if all 2nd edition copies have the problem?

It seems all of the initial print run of the new edition has this problem.

Last poster got an explanation by FFG.

I received a new board from FFG as well - the problem seems to have been solved now. I believe that the (2nd ed) game has had a second print run lately with proper boards included now. But I assume that there could be still some early print runs around in stores with a defect board, so beware...
