Sure, the box looks big but will it hold everything comfortably once it's punched and put together?

A topic so large one thread couldn't contain it?

If it overflows the box, then it could overflow threads too. In fact, the box might warp the spacetime continuum with its sheer size. The effects of that game's release may be...unpredictable.

I predict that within a week of its release, pictures of the box with a lion in it will be posted to the cat-in-a-box thread.

Part of the reason for the size is so that once everything is opened, punched, and assembled it will store neatly in the box.

I thought that I failed to hit the submit button and just quickly retyped the thread. Sorry!

How big are the hexes? 2" or 1.5"?

And how many hexes do one map have? AFAIR each one of the 2 original GEV maps had 23x23 hexes.

Thanks for your info.

I don't have the exact measurements here at home, but 1.5 to 2 on hexes is correct. I think the 1.5 is more accurate because the GEV board is roughly 35" wide.

If they're just like the Ogre Miniatures maps except that they're mounted, the hexes are 1.5". That's as big as you can make them and still get the game on a reasonable sized table. I have several 2" hex G.E.V. and Ogre maps, they require unreasonable sized tables. Even 35x35" is bigger than some dining tables.

Here's a shot of the box. Not exactly sure where I'll put it, but I'll worry about that when it gets here.

Guacamole.

I'm just going to put a stand under it and a piece of plexiglass over it and make the box into a small table.

In that case I hope the box lid has the ogre map on it

Wow. They should have attached folding table legs to the bottom.
