I fully support the message and content of this thread!
(and hey - this sort of thing worked with Tammany Hall, so here's hoping!)
Consider this the very first preorder! Preorder #1 right here. #1 of 1000.

OK, print up a 1,000 preordered copies - ship 500 to Essen and 500 to the US (or whatever the preordered split is).
Preorder # 1 here (can pick up at Essen OR have it shipped from US).
Just need 999 more.

Preorder 2 -- if R&D won't do a re-print, can they work something out with another publisher? please?

DID you NOT see this? I think that makes you #2 and #3, respectively.

Good luck with this campaign, guys, but I think I'm correct in saying that none of the Key games have ever been re-printed. I think Richard likes the scarcity value - plus it gives him the second two days of Essen to play games after he sells out in the first hour!

Not quite. Keydom was reprinted as Aladdin's Dragons. And Keythedral had a small first printing and then a Pro Ludo printing.

And Key Harvest.
I'm in for a new Key market printing!

I think, and Richard has said as much, that he does not wish to spend the time reprinting a game that he has already developed previously. "All of the work and none of the fun". I strongly suspect he is not stopping any interested publisher waving money at him to republish an existing title. This has already happened multiple times in the past.

Was Key Harvest reprinted? I was under the impression that it was a single print run, but it was one that was done with a major publisher.

Seems to me there would be publisher out there that would do this; Z-man, Stonghold, and Rio Grande come to mind. Kickstarter would be a good option too. Whatever the means, this needs a reprint!

Tasty Minstrel Games appears to be getting into republishing titles, too. Any of the above publishers would certainly do a great job!

It would seem that with so many people begging to have this reprinted someone would step up and make a deal.

When 1000 people post here, maybe that will be 'so many' enough for someone to print a few thousand!

I've had my eye on this for ages. But I've always caved in and, uh, bought 6 or 7 other games instead.

Cmon people. Theres got to be more people that want this game than this.
I really want this game. Just not at the markup that marketplace guys are putting it up for.
I really wonder for a game like this with such a great design, why not let a bigger company run its production? Especially since the game is finished already and no real additional work needs to be put into the game.

Because they were in a warehouse in Germany for something like 16 months. I reserved mine around Essen (2010). I would of have been better off ordering directly from Richard last January.

Ahhh I see. I certainly don't feel nearly as broken-hearted.
