Subject: black smasher is in defense unbeatable...?!?! rss

When I use the black smasher in defense (in skirmish 2) against offensive dice in skirmish 1 with rolled 1,this dice can`t get guarded, because the black smasher hits (because of his specialization) anyway (except against white).

So if the opponent has still his black smasher(s) in reserve, you should not make an offensive move, because you can`t react to your dice in skirmish 1, because the black smasher is always first.

...or do I misunderstand the LIFO method???

If you rolled a one in Skirmish 2, and your opponent has ANY smasher in reserve you are pretty hosed anyhow.

to clarify it (an example):

offense player: rolls a (non white) 1 in skirmisch 1
defense player: forgoes

offense player: can roll whatever he wants (because is useless)
defense player: use his black smasher to destroy the die in skirmish 1.

so you can`t defend any rolled die with a "one" in skirmish 1, if the defense player has its black smasher in reserve.

Correct. I'm just saying that ANY low rolls are vulnerable to Smashers. The black Smasher just has a 1/6 better odds.

In my understanding there is no difference.

Because if defense player uses smasher in Defense 2 its effect is assigned first. (last in - first out)
That means at this precise moment all other dice have its initial value.

The offense player boost his die after resolving smashers effect. And therefore there is no dice anymore to boost.

I'm thinking were mixing two ideas here....

One is that since black smasher is going to win on a tie, its always going to win even on a roll of one (unless some miracle occurs and the defending die is guarded somehow).

Then there is the LIFO concept and the defending player has priority is double screwed as if he tries to boost the 1 roll dice, it's pointless as the boost effect doesn't happen until after the black die already abyssed the defending dice.

Not that I'm saying anything new here, just trying to re-state it for random newbies browsing.

I think the short answer is just "yes" hehe.
